Just got my tb in...
Wanna put it on now...
BUT I don't know if it's too big without the cam...
Would it just slow me down and waste gas?
Or would it make a difference?

It won't do ANYTHING until you get your intakes Ported and Polished. An intake system is only as big as it smallest part.

Yeah?
Damn...
That's wut I figured...
I planonportin and polishinwhen I get my headers and exhaust...
Gonna do it all at once...
Will auto zone sell a gasket big enough for a 70 mm?

Why did you need a 70mm tb? Or did you just want it?

coop7

Yeah...
Didn't need one that big...
My cams a.500 lift with a 273 duration so that wont really use the whole thing...
I plan on eventually puttin a blower on it...
Better too much tb than not enough though...
Least that's wut I figure...
Wut did u put on?

People hate TB's because they are expensive and dont offer any real power on stock engines, but it is a logical area to improve on when building your engine.

I also suggest a MAC or C&L 73mm MAF housing and CAI kit. It will compliment your 70mm perfectly. C&L claims something like 9hp with a properly sized system when installing the 73mm MAF housing and CAI. As for actually getting that, well it depends on your mods and the conditions and calculations of the dyno.

Now when you see your lower intake to head ports you will think Ford Crazy for making them so damn small. The exhaust ports on the heads are tiny also. When you get everything ported out you will see a lot better gains from that system, especially with a cam.

Stock TB 94-98 is 52mm and 99-04 is 60mm I think.

Yeah?
I got this one from a friend of a friend for $110...
It's slightly used but still in good condition...
C&L?
Can't say that I've heard of em...
Wuts their full name?
So C&L has a CAI that'll actually fit a 70 mm tb?
Bad ass...
I figured I'd have to customize somethin to make it work...
Any links?
Thanks...

That tells us nothing about your cam. We need the specs.

I am running a stocktwin 57mm TB. Then again I don't have your average v6 motor.;)

Don't have it with me now...

Any suggestions?
I was thinkin about goin with a BBK 65mm tb with their CAI too...
Would that be too much tb?
I'll post my cam specs tomorrow...

Yeah, the 218/226 is a decently sized cam. Mine is a 214/224 and is too small for my m112.

So u think a tb upgrade wouldn't hurt?
I want a bigger one...
But the whole point is performance...
A tb isn't really a "looks" thing...
lol
But I just want to make sure increasing the tb size to 65 or 70mm won't decrease my performance instead of helping...

If your intakes are stock then the TB blade will hit the intake and therefor you cannot go to true 100% WOT. However porting the beginning of the intake will allow the tb to operate normally. You may losesome hpnow that you're NA but when you go blown it'll help.
