Default Ran a Lingenfelter vette!

Ok so I don't run my car at the drags, I figured I'd get too nervous and run terribly but I go all the time so my friend finally convinced me. (After he offered to pay for the racing fee Anyway, on our way back to my car a silver c5 vette was sitting in line to race. I was examining the car as I walked by and a badge caught my eye that wasn't quite normal. After I backstepped a little bit and bent over a little bit it read "Ligenfelter" I was ecstatic! I had seen videos of them on youtube and I wanted to see one actually race. So I look over that the driver and I complimented his car but he looked at me and turned his head like he didnt hear me. Damn I felt embarrased because my friend and my girlfriend we're standing right there. I kind of mumbled for a bit I guess... Anyway I get in line after a 10 min inspection. After about a 25 min wait it's my turn, the entire time I wasn't paying attention to who was behind me. Needless to say I pulled in the left lane and the vette pulled in the right lane. (I'm guessing he didn't run or he didn't grab a slip to get back in line that fast) I was about to piss my pants literally, talking out loud that I knew I shouldn't have raced now I get to be embarassed, what are the chances of my first legit drag race would be against a ligenfelter vette! Anyway, my heart was pounding and I staged before him. The light went green and I just stomped on it, I spun till the top of first gear but then it caught and she took off! The vette spun well through 1st and 2nd most likely third because I had a few car lengths on him by the end. Anyway, they didnt have the boards on yet so i don't know what I ran for sure and I didn't bother to get a slip ( I know i'm kicking my self). I was so happy, I know he would have raped me had he got traction but I didn't care I beat a ligenfelter vette and a douche bag driver. I was too shaken up and I didnt race again for the night lol..

Nice win, and it just goes to show that traction is key when racing.

When it comes to Vettes,Lingenfelter modified ones can be really nasty!I'm glad you outran it wether you should have won or not.Lot's of high performance cars are owned by azzholes,Him not acknowledging you was proof of that!Good job!I had a 78 4 door Malibu that I put a pretty hot 355 in one time,Car as brown and wore hubcaps.Sleeper!I was at the track and my first draw was a guy in what appeared to be a 93' Cobra with a centrifugal charger on it.I complimented him on his ride and got the same reaction. With M/T Sportsman pros my car would 60ft at 1.7 and 1/8 at 7.70.I smoked him!He was so pissed after the run he threw his helmet down on the ground cause I know his buddies were giving him hell about being outrun by grannies Brown bomb.If he wasn't a dik I would have let him look under the hood and see it was inevitable.I just laughed and let him stew!Good job on the win!

AWESOME! Nothing better than to stick it to a snob like that! I can't stand losers that think they are gods gift because of a car. What a tool!

Nice run man. The only thing that I can offer up an a reason he was is that somtimes when I am at the track I focus on my car and what I am doing to the point where I don't really hear other people around me, it's not that I am a snob, it's just that I am there to get cetain things figured out. Not saying that's what happened here, the Vette guy was probably a jerk, but I know that I might come off that way somtimes at the track.
