OK.....so went ape sh!t trying to do my spoiler delte and in trying to get this hazy stuff off, went and got 1000 grit sandpaper and wet sandpapered it lightly and ended up with a small area of like dozens of little tiny scratches.
How do I remove them? I tried McGuires Scratch out to no avail...................

Anybody got a tip or two on this??????????

Aren't you supposed to use 1500+ grit? Try 2000 grit.

So what you're saying is use 2000 grit water sanding to get out the 1000 grit scratches? Am I hearing you right on this??

yes, you're hearing him right, but don't do that.

you're going to need to have it professionally buffed or buy a buffer and do it yourself. 1k grit marks can usually be removed by compounding, but sometimes they need to be followed up with 2or3k first.

do you have any pictures of the damage?

i'd recommend a porter cable package from juztang for this one. he's a local site sponsor and can  get you all taken care of, super nice guy and you get a member discount. although, you will most likely benefit from a smaller pad such as a 4" or 5" pad to take those marks out, and justin only sells 6.5" so it looks like you have some shopping to do.

1000 is definitely too rough for paint. What I would do is use 1500 then 2000 grit to get it better, then polish it back. Shouldn't be too hard, but I do worry how much clearcoat you're going to lose in the process. You might want to have it checked out by a professional who can get a meter to see how deep the clear is.

yeah, u might be able to buff it out... maybe
but just to be safe i would take it some where to see how many mil's of clear coat u got left
but if found out the same thing with 1k grit, i now start at 1500-2k depending on what im workin on and work my way up
