Got a set of BBK CC plates for my 89 lx. The garage I took my car to for the install said they can't do it because you need cut the stock hole in the shock tower larger per the instructions (insurance reasons) . Is this true for all brands of CC plater or just BBK? If so,  it looks like I will be installing these myself so what is the best way to go about making the hole larger??

I think they probably don't know mustangs very well and when it comes to custom work .. they'd rather not f it up.....but if you have an impact gun and a few hand tools...it's an easy job....but you'll need to take it to an alignment shop afterwards

i had to use a rat tail file on the bolt holes for my mm caster camber plates but it was very minor. maybe that's what they were talking about.

they're giving a big smelly load of crap.

CC plate install takes about 30 hour

i broke one being dumb and hitting curbs (dont ask)

drove home (hood was holding strut down..) and ordered a new one. put it on next day in the parking lot at work in about 10 minutes.

I've installed both Steeda a Maximum Motorsports C/C plates and they both use the original holes with no drilling or filing required.

Do it yourself and then have it aligned.....but I wouldn't take it back to the shop that told you they need to cut the holes bigger if they do alignments, they might try to tell you that you've installed them upside down

I wouldn't let them touch it, i have hotchkis and had to do no mods to get it to fit right
