what gives me better performance slp exhaust or flowmasters on a 07 gt with a tuner and a x pipe

Axle back exhausts really don't add any power. Not anything you'll notice. SLPs sound good with cats.

Flowmasters sound horrible period.

SLP's will also cause you to lose torque as well.

Yes, Flow's blow.

true true will my car **** up if i dont have it tuned and i put a cold air intake

ThumperMX113 -> RE: flowmasters or slps (5/9/2008 2:46:50 PM)

Depends on what cold air intake. Pwny I don't buy into that. The cats are keep back pressure. I don't think I've lost any torque, especially according to all of my dyno pulls. I'm running 302 rwhp and 318 rwtq with SLP LMs, VMP 93 octane tune, C&L intake, CMCVs, and UDPs. The numbers seem to be about what everyone is getting even with mufflered set-ups.

Yes.  However, there are CAI's out there that don't require a tune.  I think BBK has one.

But, you should get the tune anyways since many vendors sell them with a tune anyways.  Plus, its way too good to pass up.

Its probably the other mods.  If you are bone stock and just SLP's, then you will lose some.

Many people complain about loss of torq with new axlebacks, i felt it with stingers so i know for sure the SLPs will lose some too

gil 86 -> RE: flowmasters or slps (5/9/2008 3:18:19 PM)

so should i put on the slp on or not slp then the tune right away

1morepart -> RE: flowmasters or slps (5/9/2008 3:24:35 PM)

flowmasters blow....boomtubes, IMO sound the best and I felt no loss of power in the low range!!!![;)]

Garyboi23 -> RE: flowmasters or slps (5/9/2008 7:31:54 PM)

Definetely flowmasters, and upgraded piping and Hi-Flo cats........... would be better, I would imagine...

imnotmy77stang -> RE: flowmasters or slps (5/9/2008 8:29:45 PM)

its amazing how much everyone hates the flowmasters...... ive been more than happy with the sound and i didnt notice any loss of torque when i put them on, and i have original 40 series in my II and it sounds wickedly awesome

Joolander -> RE: flowmasters or slps (5/9/2008 8:34:28 PM)

has anyone here who hates flows actually ever used them? [&:][&:]

imnotmy77stang -> RE: flowmasters or slps (5/9/2008 8:39:22 PM)

i dont think so, im pretty sure its one of those "bandwagon" type of things.

Lifter583 -> RE: flowmasters or slps (5/9/2008 8:57:06 PM)

I put American Thunder Flowmasters on right after I got my 2006 GT, I have had many compliments on how it sounds. Great middle and top range sound. Now starting to wear in and rumble deeply.
