Im looking to get a new General Repair manual.  I was going to get a Chilton's repair manual, but maybe some of you have a better suggestion or solution.  In all honesty, my last couple of repairs have come from looking up the How-To's on the web and using these.  However, its always nice to have something you can hold onto.[;)]

I would get a reprint of a factory shop manual. That will be one of the best investments you will ever make. You can get them from a number of suppliers, here's a link to one.

I got mine from http://www.fordmanuals.com, for $15 you can get the digital version of the 6 volume $100+ set.

+1 there is no better thing than the shop manual. It's a must have

i have the one from detroit iron, but seeing that fordmanuals.com ships them as pdf AND cheaper I'd go with that:

As much as I like using the computer I would go with the low tech paper manual. Not only do you have instant access to all of the pages you don't have to worry about cleaning your hands to leaf through the pages.

It's always nice to have the paper version there with you at the car.  I find it's easier to find stuff with the paper manual as well.  You can't leaf through a CD.

This is exactly why I was looking for a new manual.  Having a digital copy would be nice when I am at work and I can't seem to get that project off of my mind [sm=bustedsign.gif].

I have always had a paper version of the shop manual. I recently got one on C/D also. The paper is by far better and easier. Of course I hadn't thoght about loading the C/D at work before now.

Thankfully my work has a laser printer, the tech support guy did look confused as to why we burned through 1500pgs worth of ink in one day though [:D]
