Fog lights that match the HID (and aren't crap)

Mattwood440 -> Fog lights that match the HID (and aren't crap) (5/9/2008 8:17:47 AM)

Hi, all. New to the forum and just bought my new ride last week. I need some advice concerning the Pony fog lights. I have the factory HID headlights and next to them, the yellowish fogs look pretty fugly. So I've been doing a ton of research and really don't know what to try as far as color and quality. I know the HIDs are around 4100k-4300k in color so I was looking for H11 bulbs within those numbers.

Here is the problem. From what I've read here and elsewhere, seems that some manufacturers label their color temps a bit high, and that the actual color is significantly lower and yellower. AND, it seems that some bulbs are just pieces of crap to start with and blow out every 2 months anyway!

So...any experience with, or advice for? The prices of these things literally run from $8 on fleabay to $80 for PIAA (which I've read some mixed stuff about).

BTW, this is my first Stang (woot!) and with only 250 miles on it so far, I'm way impressed!

stangmods.com has got what you want.  they can match the color to your HIDS exactly.  if not, you could always send em back for an exchange.  but check out the site, youll see what you are looking for.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks! Oddly enough, stangmods.com does not have what I need, which are H11 bulbs. HOWEVER, as soon as I posted this message a link to a related thread (I know I searched before I posted this, so I don't know why it didn't come up before!) had a reply from a dude that recommended these, which say they are "They are specifically designed to match the brightness and clarity of HID systems found on luxury cars" and "are backed by a No-Questions-Asked 10-Year Replacement Warranty."

Sounds good to me! One thing though, I don't even know if I'm going to get them now because I've found (after 700 miles) I don't drive w/ both the HIDs and fogs on. I put just the fogs on for dusk or lower light situations, and run the just the HIDs at night. The HIDs stand out really well by themselves and look factory. I'm afraid that blue fogs would detract from that. We'll see.

I just found them for cheaper at this website (which I'm not affiliated with)
