After my intitial post I see what needs to be done to hook up my sub (Solobaric 10" in a sealed box).

I did some surfing around ebay and I can get a kicker 300 watt mono for about $100. This is the same amp that my local shop suggested, but for about $200.. In the past I used Fosgate, and reading the FAQ above there are some other known and not se well known (for me atleast) brands mentioned; ie Total Mobile Audio, Profile, Orion, & Hifonics. I also like PPI (pricey ?).

Should I just jump on the Kicker or should i look at other brands? My goal? Just add the sub and be happy. I don't plan on upgrading anything else (we've all said that before, but I really really mean it, LOL) .

The other component I need is the Line out converter. I went online and there are a dozen brands with a big price range :(...  Any suggestions? I don't plan on updating my head unit at any time soon, so I need something that'll work well for a while, especially if I , uhh, decide to continue upgrading, lol.

tks

It was bought originally specifically to run mono, is that 2 ohm? dvc / svc? Hmm, I don't think back when I bought it I had those specs; it's an old school round Solo 10"

LOC's doesn't really matter $20-$30 is plenty to spend on one. I like Sound Gate stuff as well as Peripheral. It really doesn't matter, I just wouldn't buy one thats too terribly cheap looking.

More than likely a dual 2 ohm driver is what you have, if you say its the 1 ohm operable version.

I don't think anything Profile is 1 ohm stable. But...

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4209 You'd be around 600 @ 1 ohm with this.
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4201 Or you could run 400 @ 4 ohm with this. $10 cheaper
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6097 Or 600 @ 4 ohm... Good price for that kind of power.
