On my recent trip to Charleston SC.  I found this Texaxo station.  The pump was still set to .19 cents per gallon.  Gee only $2.85 to fill up!

Great location for pics.....Kinda makes you sick after paying 59 bucks to fill the tank.....

hey, how are these oil companies going to keep up their huge profits like that? I mean Exxon only made $13 billion last quarter. I'd like to take up a collection to keep them in business. Anybody want to contribute?

Yesterday I was watching Me, Myself & Irene, in the scene of the gas station they had prices of $1.19 and $1.39 [&:]

I remember when I first started driving maybe around '97 I bought gas on the border of Georgia and Florida and paid 67 cents.... damnit...

One of the gas stations around here changed their price
mid-day and instead of $3.48 to $3.51 they set it to $0.51 by mistake.
I filled up my rig and two others from work before they
caught the mistake. Was that wrong of me to do? [:o]

no i dont think it was wrong to do, but remember its not the gas stations fault for the high prices they make little to no profit on fuel all thier money comes from the over priced goodys you buy while fueling up

Exxon made a 40 billion dollar profit on 400 billion in revenue at the last report.  That sounds like a lot but it's only a 10% margin.  If Exxon sold you gasoline at cost it would only be 10% off.  That isn't the difference everyone is looking for.

The main issue is rampant speculation driving up crude prices.  There is room for a price increase because demand hasn't kept up with supply.  Refining is coming up a little short.  Geopolitical instability.  But it's noowhere near enough to explain this huge crude oil price increase.

It's not so much Exxon but the speculators and the major crude producers that are at fault for oil prices going so high.

I remember back in the late 60's there were some 'gas wars' in Orlando and gas was at 19 cents a gallon. This was at a time when it was around 33 cents normally. As a broke teenager it was nice filling up my Mustang for less than $3.00

wow... that'd be nice now a days though.... My dad had a 67 chevelle SS he said he could put $5 in it and it'd fill it up and last him through a weekend of racing, and half a week back and forth to work...
Me on the other hand- a '90 lx (modded) weekend warrior car, 93 pump only, and '04 5.3 silverado.... yeah my gas bill sucks...It cost me about $84 to fill up my truck now... when i first got it... $48-$52 would fill it up....

I remember when everyone bitched when gas went over a dollar... than 2 dollars... now we're waiting for 4 dollars.

it's sad... I remember putting 20 in my truck and getting 3/4 of a tank!!! Now I put 20 in my stang and barely get half... if even... prolly not.
