i recommend you forget the spacer and TB, and go for the headers and midpipe.  by complete exhaust you mean axle backs?

I would go with gears and some rear susspension mods with your cash, probably your best bang for the buck.

Auto or 5 speed? do you have a handheld? what is your goal? I mean where are you going to end up? Like the people on here will tell you plan your mods out so you dont have to do anything over and over. One of the mags had 10 best mods for under 500 bucks. if my math is correct or you turn your own wrenchs for everything you might get (2) errrrr 3. Some headers cats and x or h pipe will be over 1000.

happy spending and welcome to the world of never enuf money for all the mods you want.

You say you have the Ford intake, does that include an aftermarket tune?  If not...that is you #1 low dollar mod right there by far.  I agree with the Gears recommendation also.  If you have a 5Spd, put a set of 4:10s in the rear end.  Very good mod, you hit the 3000+ RPM powerband so quick it feels like you have a lot more HP.  If you have an auto, most suggest 3:73 rear end.

thanks for the recomendations! well my mustang is a 5 speed stick shift. i dont know if the intake came with a tune because thats the way i bought it. as for the headers what brand do you guys recomend? long tube or shorty? as for the 4.10's, those have been recommended to me but im puting on some dip dish tires on back and i dont know if that will affect my performance. i've also heard that 4.10's make you lose power at top speeds! is this true?

with the gears, you not lose power so much as lose top speed...you will redline faster reducing the max MPH you will hit...however, they help you get there faster...

as for headers, depends on how much you want to spend and what kind of gains you want to acheive...i bought long tubes cause i figured if i was gonna pay someone that much to be down there in the first place, i might as well spend the extra couple hundred and get something that will give better gains

If you have a new CAI with no tune, you should probably get that taken care of unless it came with a tune, then you need to locate that tuner.

good long tube headers run over a grand, try looking for threads on the power gains of long tubes on the GT. I saw a gain of approximately 28rwHP with headers and o/r x pipe and new tune.

Gears are GREAT, but you will spend more money to get them installed than you the parts is worth. I suggest you get on eBay and picked a used CAI, and a used Diablo or SCT tuner. Those two combined will open up your can nicely; plus you leave yourself the option of having the capacity to upload custom tunes onto your car after future mods. With these tuners, you can also recalibrate your computer for the gear swaps. Those parts (the CAI & tuner) are as good used as they are new, and you can save hundreds; I know I did. Headers are headers; longtubes do flow better. Long tube headers will require a custom tune, and that is extra money. The shorty headers do not require a tune. With $1000, you can get the CAI, tuner and a set of gears (installed) and have enough money left over to fill her up and get used to it. You may have enough left over to buy a set of headers, too.  I paid $168 for my ceramic coated headers on eBay and they flow GREAT! That price included shipping, by the way.
