when swapin my 351w/c4 tranny..the tranny is bolted up to the motor and motor is bolted down to the mounts...but the c4 mounts dont come back far enough to where the existing crossmember was..so my question is do i have to custom make on..or do the have some for this swap? ive seen a couple but i was wondering wat routes others have took who have done this swap

I moved it forward and through bolted it and a little tack weld helped also.

I don't have a 351, but I do have a 347 in my coupe with a C4. I took my crossmember out, flipped it upside down and on the two round ends where the bolts pass threw it, you will see a couple of tack welds on these tubes that hold the cross member in place. Cut these tacks out and slide the tubes all the way to the other side. Weld it back up, flip it back over and shove it under the car and see if that helps. It did for me, I'm running a prothane tranny mount on my C4 and solid motor mounts, if it makes any differance compared to what you have as far as mounts. But it worked great for me when I did it. Prothane mount takes 7/16" x 14 thread bolt about 3/4" or so long to bolt it to the cross member itself.
