i'm not trying to be rude or anything, but haven't you asked this same question about a dozen times?

you seem to want power but you keep holding yourself back especially by just trying to get the 'biggest cam' and the 'biggest intake' etc.  you have to have a matched combination to keep everything moving correctly and flowing properly. with your heads i wouldn't bother with anything too huge or too extreme. i'm personally on the tip of my performance with what i got in my car which is why i'm dumping my heads so everything can actually work the way it's supposed to.

if all else fails just get a top end kit from edelbrock or something and call it a day. :|

A good dual plane intake and a 650 carb should suit you fine.  I had a torquer on my Clev and it was a decent single plane with some power down low.  650 is plenty of carb for that engine.  On the cam, that is going to completely depend on how well your heads are flowing and where you want you power.  I would guess something in a hydraulic flat lifter cam in the 265-275 advertised duration range on the intake and 270-285 on the exhaust would be about right.  Nothing crazy but higher than stock with the power focused between 2000-6000rpm.  If you do not want to spin it that high, then you will want less cam.  What tranny is also going to affect things.  If you have a c4 or c6, you may consider a torque converter swap while the engine is out.

Look kid (SalikDDD) ive asked the question many time on whats a good daily street intake and what people are running on theyre 351c. I have not gotten any replys. I dont need your smartass 2cents, because you think you know it all. Im really tired of these kids answering when they dont even have an idea what theyre talking about.

urban cowboy, thanks for a helpfull reply. ive never been into building on a motor. Im more into making the car look pretty. I just need a little advise on whats a good brandname setup to run on a 351c.

woah, hold the phone jackass. #1 i'm a kid? i was unaware at the age of 25 that you're still a kid, if you're older than me you're proving me wrong then. i think i know it all? when'd i say that? never. Any idea what they are talking about? alright bro, apparently you have no idea what you're talking about if you keep wanting to ram huge ass cams and crap on your motor without even thinking of the entire package. 'i want a lumpy cam sound' - gee that's something to base your purchase off of, and don't tell me you never said that because i've read your posts. get a clue or shut up. people have tried to help you and tell you what to do and you bypass it and ask AGAIN and AGAIN. calm down and stop using urine in your cereal in the mornings, it might help.

deadcarnahans -> RE: what to run (5/9/2008 2:47:02 PM)

I have an unused xcellerator intake I'll sell for 2/3s of what it cost new.
I decided to use the performer instead and a milder cam due to the rising cost of fuel.
Also have cam for sale. Never ran.
Interested?

1970coupe -> RE: what to run (5/9/2008 3:00:13 PM)

yes deadcarnahans i am! send me a pm.

salikddd im just messin with you. i understand your point, and no im not trying to be a jackass and build a hotrod, i just want a little more umpf to my stock clev. I know it has good potential with a good cam/carb/intake. I already have exhaust and headers, so i want to put the intake on before i tune the car. next time please try acting nicer with advise then shooting down the idea. thanks bud

I wish I was a kid again. Gas was 27.9 cents for SUNOCO 260. you could run 13:1 on that stuff. Even though I only made $3.40 an hour as a mechanic I could fill up on an hours pay. House payment was $112.00 a month.  A new Corvette was $7,500. My Ford F100 sold for $2,100.00, I still have it.

Sticking a single plane on a basically stock Cleveland isn't going to help it. It's doubtful it'd go any faster, and your mileage would be worse. The biggest problem with most stock engines, especially SBF's is the heads, they're mostly of poor design. Intakes and carbs and exhaust and all that other stuff if selected right can help, but a chain is still only as strong as it's weakest link.

1970coupe -> RE: what to run (5/10/2008 12:21:25 PM)

than what would you suggest. i would rather put my money towards needs right now like brakes and suspension. heads are around 900 a pop right?
