a freind (without internet) is experiencing major problems with his 2006 GT auto gearbox, the car starts fine and sets off fine in drive, but when it goes to change into 2nd the 'spanner light' comes on and the O/D light flashes, when the car is turned off and back on there is no spanner light or O/D light on, when you drive the car using the manual selectors 1, 2 and 3 it will go into gears but between 1st and 2nd the 'spanner light' comes on again and O/D flashes, it will go in reverse but judders sometimes?
the basic OBD has been plugged in but it just said 'gearbox fault unrecognised code' so i suppose it needs the IDS code reader (i think thats the name) for the gearbox? but would anybody have a idea on what it could be or had the same problems, it has done 40,000 miles!
unfortunately we are in the UK so warranty not valid,
any help would be much appreciated.
