You can get one used at like gamestop or something but your not going to save that much and it might end up being the old version(red rings)....Yes I would get xbox live but you dont need it for GTA...Hdmi do you have an hdtv?...I have the elite and a premium and the only real difference is the HDMI cable and the bigger hardrive(Unless your going to play alot of games and have an HDTV or just like the color you wont need an Elite...As far as the red rings like I said above if you just went and purchased a new one now from gamestop or w.e it will be the new version so you will be fine.....
Oh and one more thing GTA 4 is not that good(yet) they took a lot of content out but hopefully downloadable content will be out soon

Yep you buy a 360 and it's guaranteed to break. If you tampered with it at all your best bet is to wrap that bitch in a blanket then sell it while it is "fixed".

Just buy one at bestbuy. Buy gta 4. And buy the extended warrenty for the xbox for $60. Saved me. Only thing that sucks is you have to renew the warrenty once you use it.

Yea just go trade everything in(they will give you more for trade in then cash) and buy the console and game...They come with a 1 year warranty...make sure you get the 360 Pro(Used to be callled the Premium)because it comes with a 20g hardrive, wireless controller and headset unlike the arcade bundle....

i dont buy anything for my 360, especially the console used. i admit, as much as i love my 360, and how well they got just about everything right, its undeniable that the older models do have a much better chance of going bad that just about any system ever made. some people blame certain games, certain accessories, or just the console itself.
i figure that the chance that someone returned/sold back a game or accessory because they think/know it "burned out" their 360, is enough in itself to make me not want to take the chance of buying anything used. plus anymore, with how ridiculous used game and accessory prices are, youre better off spending an extra $5 and buying it new.
