mdg -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 12:15:31 PM)

Did you ever find out who keyed the stang?  I'd park far away in this one.

lrgnation -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 12:32:55 PM)

you cant knock the vette such a badass car. You need longtubes, intake, cam and your putting down 450rwhp all day..Thats just a mild cam with stock heads too! imagine what some aftermarket heads and aggresive cam would be like.

props on a sweet car tho

05MustangSally -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 12:42:08 PM)

Nice new whip Mamba!  It's good to see you left the Stang side for another piece of American muscle rather than an EVO or STI [;)]

I'm a bit curious though...did you buy the vette used and where from.  Looks very familiar!

PonyUp -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 1:08:31 PM)

Sweet ride, but I would have kept the Stang...Looks alot more "mean" and has lotsa style!

Rdot9 -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 1:28:15 PM)

Nice lookin vette!! I wish my car was that smart and remembered where i sat and all that fun stuff[:)] My uncle has a silver one, havent riden in it yet but my dad says it's FAST!!

amptor -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 1:31:27 PM)

Both cars look great, but I have to admit that corvette looks pretty nice in red.  I used to be into corvettes but not any more.  Welp looks like something to enjoy, I haven't driven one yet :)

Black Mamba GTT -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 1:59:52 PM)

The first time I drove a c6 I fell in love with it.  It was at an event called Rev it up.  I strongly suggest you look it up and see if you can take part in it.  I am not sure if they are doing it again, but it was awesome.  I got to go around a road course doing a hotlap with a pro driver in a Z06, talk about fast!!!!!  Then I got to do the same thing by myself in a c6 and then I was in a competition on a road course with the SS colbalts they had there.  But look it up and see if it is in your area[:D]  That is what made me want this car more than anything.

I am going to take modding this car slow tho.  I am actually gonna pay cash instead of credit.  So it will take longer to save up[:'(]  but better then charging it.

kngdaka -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 2:48:05 PM)

Great choice, I freakin love the vettes. I hope my next car after this one is a Corvette as well, only I've already planned that I'm gonna drive it off the line in Bowling Green[;)] I figure if I hold off getting married for a couple years after college I can buy the vette then go pick up girls in it. After enough girls I'll find my wife[8D]

Mustangs have a more retro style which I really love. However the corvette is just badass inside, outside, and under the hood.

+1 on paying in cash as well. I'm nobody's bish[:D]

Grabber -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 2:52:13 PM)

Congrats!!!!

Black Mamba, do you still live with your parents?  Also, what kind of deal did you get on the vette man?

In a small way I am envious, simply because I've been working full time since I was 15, and always had a low end car, except for my 2003 M3 CSL.  (don't ask) .  You must be making at least 50 gs a year to afford that thing.  What did you pay for that bad girl?

Black Mamba GTT -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 2:57:09 PM)

No I don't live with my parents and I make well over 50gs a year but I am not going to tell you exactly how much......it's a secret[:-]  I got it for well under blue book value.  It was used and it was also a lawyer's that was going through a mid life crisis that his wife didnt want it.  Let's just say I got really lucky[;)]

Grabber -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 3:03:53 PM)

That's bada$$ man.  Congrats.  Now, go smoke some people, and post some kill stories man!!!!![;)]

post some stories? we may never hear from him again. he'll be reppin' the vette forums now.......lol. good luck, great car. good job keeping it american [;)].

P.S.....i also make well over 50k a year its just that the definition of "well over" differs from person to person. my "well over" may not be as large as your "well over"....haha [8D]

Black Mamba GTT -> RE: From the Mamba to Christine.....based on a true story. (5/8/2008 3:32:20 PM)

haha.  I will stay on these forums.  Don't worry.  I have checked out the vette forums and they just aren't as happening.  Not very many people my age on there, well not very  many people on there period.  My dad has a 06 mustang so I guess I can stay on here as long as there is a mustang in the family.  Even if that mustaing is 2000 miles away[;)]

Welcome to the Vette family from someone who just left!  Gotta admit, your Mamba was gorgeous, but you can't go wrong with another American classic.  I hear you about the Vette crowd though - I'm not as young a lad as you (I'm 38), but I still found myself the baby in the crowd at Vette shows, etc. whenever I took her out.  Definitely a much different crowd, but they are a good bunch of people just like the Mustang folks I've met here.  If you're going to check out any Vette forums, corvetteforum.com is probably the best place to go.

And definitely a smart move to enjoy it while you're young and before you settle down.  I wouldn't trade my wife and kids for the world, but let me tell you - things change big time, especially financially, once a family comes around.  I've been blessed with the ability to pull in what many would consider an obscene amount (sorry, that's as close as I get to divulging that bit of private information), and all I've got is my little 4.0 six banger (she rocks though!).  I probably could swing a GT modded to the hilt, or a new Vette, but knowing my kids' college is paid for and that my wife and I will have a respectable retirement nest egg later in life holds a bit more priority right now.  For now, I'll just live my fast car dreams vicariously through you guys [:D][:D][:D]!!

Here's a shot of the old girl I just sold (1972 LT-1 Coupe) along with my Stang before I made a few exterior mods.

Congrats again and enjoy the ride!
