This is a coming of age tale of a boy who bought 2 cars...so come along boys and girls...........

Haha ok well I recently sold the Mamba to my trainer. For those of you who haven't seen my car before here is what she looked like.
http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/chsmith112/Stang1.jpg
http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/chsmith112/Stang2.jpg
Most of you haven't seen these pics because I am of the lazy decent and don't like putting pics up, cause well it takes effort....jp. And my new car is in the sig. I will take pics of it someday and post them on here as well.

Well I love my new car!! The difference between the vette and the supercharged mustang are worlds apart. The mustang had around 400hp but it was heavier and didn't kick in until about 2500 rpm then it just flew. The vette is smooth and has a crap load of torque in the low rpms. I dont' even like takeing the TC off on the vette. I did and punched it from a dig and was almost completely sideways going thru 1st 2nd and almost 3rd. Scary stuff!!! I loved the looks of my mustang!! It was just mean lookin and one of a kind. But the vette has always been a status symbol and it's incredibly sexy:D

The interior to the vette is awesome. All leather and 2 tone black and cashmere. The heads up display is pretty kick ass too. So far I have taught the vette to say my name, when I turn the engine off the seats come up and forward and the stearing wheel comes out so I can get out easier, and when I get back in it remebers where I like to sit;) I have also taught it to lock on its own and unlock only when I get close to it.....these things are so awesome I have never seen anything like it. I could go on and on about how it has heated seats, and comes with DVD, Nav, how I can remove the top on a sunny cali day, and all that good stuff but it would take all day.

Point is I never thought I would ever own a vette, exspecially at the age of 23 but I thought well might as well have one when I am young and not a grandpa so I can really enjoy it!!!

First thing I am doing is getting exhaust. I am thinking Borla stingers. It will give it that big agressive v8 sound. Cause the exhaust note now is basically not existant. O and I am also finding out that stuff for the vette is 2 to 3x as expensive compared to the stang. A cat back exhaust cost friggin 1500 bucks!!!!!

looks pretty new, I can't see the headlights on the front though. As far as the parts being more expensive, I was talking to a guy that has a Z28 Camaro and he said he couldn't stand Mustangs, because they were EVERYWHERE. On the other hand, he's pissed that he has to pay 2-3x more for the exact same parts. I guess that's just the advantage of having a common car.

07, I SELL DRUGS!!!NOT REALLY!!! I can afford it because I got a great deal on it and I worked hard all through highschool and college to get a great job. There is not subsitute for hardwork, but I owe it alot to my parents for keeping me on the straight and narrow and giving me good values. But on the underside of that, my job is really boring to me, and it's not something I have always wanted to do....but it pays the bills. Someday I will find what I really want....but in the mean time, vrooom vrooom:D

Where I used to live, two of my neighbors had vetts. One guy would give me the keys and let me drive it whenever I wanted to. Sometimes I would drive it to work. They are a lot of fun. The only draw back I found was, no back seat and you had to crawl to get in. ;)

Well.......both cars get different kinds of attention.

The mustang got alot more attention by everyone in general. It was different and it stood out. I always had people coming up to me and telling me how much they liked and some didn't even know what kind of car it was. So far the mustang got more attention from cops, younger guys, girls, and people with nicer more expensive cars.

the vette on the other hand gets alot more attention for the ladies, haha Dad's with kids in there minivans, and o did I say more ladies. I got attention in the mustang by girls but different kinds of girls. It's kinda hard to explain.

But one reason that I did get rid of the stang was, I was tired of people coming up to me and talking to me about it and stuff like that, it got me a lot of unwanted attention. I mean I love attention but not from something I drive nesessarily, even tho my choice in cars might say otherwise;)

you cant knock the vette such a badass car. You need longtubes, intake, cam and your putting down 450rwhp all day..Thats just a mild cam with stock heads too! imagine what some aftermarket heads and aggresive cam would be like.

The first time I drove a c6 I fell in love with it. It was at an event called Rev it up. I strongly suggest you look it up and see if you can take part in it. I am not sure if they are doing it again, but it was awesome. I got to go around a road course doing a hotlap with a pro driver in a Z06, talk about fast!!!!! Then I got to do the same thing by myself in a c6 and then I was in a competition on a road course with the SS colbalts they had there. But look it up and see if it is in your area:D That is what made me want this car more than anything.

I am going to take modding this car slow tho. I am actually gonna pay cash instead of credit. So it will take longer to save up[:'(] but better then charging it.

Great choice, I freakin love the vettes. I hope my next car after this one is a Corvette as well, only I've already planned that I'm gonna drive it off the line in Bowling Green;) I figure if I hold off getting married for a couple years after college I can buy the vette then go pick up girls in it. After enough girls I'll find my wife[8D]

Mustangs have a more retro style which I really love. However the corvette is just badass inside, outside, and under the hood.

+1 on paying in cash as well. I'm nobody's bish:D

Congrats!!!!

Black Mamba, do you still live with your parents? Also, what kind of deal did you get on the vette man?

In a small way I am envious, simply because I've been working full time since I was 15, and always had a low end car, except for my 2003 M3 CSL. (don't ask) . You must be making at least 50 gs a year to afford that thing. What did you pay for that bad girl?

Black Mamba GTT
05-08-2008, 04:57 PM
No I don't live with my parents and I make well over 50gs a year but I am not going to tell you exactly how much......it's a secret[:-] I got it for well under blue book value. Welcome to the Vette family from someone who just left! Gotta admit, your Mamba was gorgeous, but you can't go wrong with another American classic. I hear you about the Vette crowd though - I'm not as young a lad as you (I'm 38), but I still found myself the baby in the crowd at Vette shows, etc. whenever I took her out. Definitely a much different crowd, but they are a good bunch of people just like the Mustang folks I've met here. If you're going to check out any Vette forums, corvetteforum.com is probably the best place to go.

And definitely a smart move to enjoy it while you're young and before you settle down. I wouldn't trade my wife and kids for the world, but let me tell you - things change big time, especially financially, once a family comes around. I've been blessed with the ability to pull in what many would consider an obscene amount (sorry, that's as close as I get to divulging that bit of private information), and all I've got is my little 4.0 six banger (she rocks though!). I probably could swing a GT modded to the hilt, or a new Vette, but knowing my kids' college is paid for and that my wife and I will have a respectable retirement nest egg later in life holds a bit more priority right now. For now, I'll just live my fast car dreams vicariously through you guys :D:D:D!!

Here's a shot of the old girl I just sold (1972 LT-1 Coupe) along with my Stang before I made a few exterior mods.

Congrats again and enjoy the ride!

if youre hating then he must be doing somehting right... heritage was pointing out that a lot of ppl hated on stalin and he didnt do something right.. he killed millions of ppl.

i get it....bad analogy. decisions on cars vs. decisions on humanity are a little bit different IMO.

actually the analogy has nothing to do with cars.
it has to do with the statement "if you're getting hate you must be doing something right." that statement could be used in any type of situation..i.e. wearing clothes you think look cool.

i agree with sancho on the bad analogy thing cuz we're talkin bout a different kinda of hate... the hate we are discussing is in context of jealousy whereas stalin (and hitler and hussein and many others) were actually HATED involving hatred not jealousy

Hahaha hey that's me. Even tho yeah it's kinda creepy and yeah your probably a big homo and all, but my profile is pretty cool, um I already know that. Hey you wanna be in my fan club. I also have a myspace and I think a thing on classmates.com. I am just suprised you found that. [sm=WTFsgign.gif] Cause that is just really really creepy and wierd.

But don't worry if you were trying to embarass me, you failed miserablely cause if I didn't want people to see it I wouldn't have written it. Besides it will give you guys a chance to tell me what you think of my drawings. I do have other hobbies than my cars[8D]

How do you think I afford the vette.......seriously.
