I've noticed over the past few months that there is gonna be some pretty badass cars coming out within the next few years. So out of these cars, real and concept, which one do you guys think will be the biggest bang and come out to be a great tuner car?
2010-2011 Ford Mustang
2009-2010 Chevy Camaro
2010-2011 Pontiac GTO
2010-2011 Pontiac Trans Am
2009 Dodge Challenger
2010 Hyundai Genesis
2010-2011 Nissan 240sx
2010-2011 Toyota Celica
2010-2011 Toyota Supra
Now I know that some of these cars probably wont make it onto showroom floors, but there are talks of all of them as of now. I honestly think the Genesis and 240sx will be big hits with everyone.
Hrrmm.. that's kind of a tough one.. I would think that most of those cars on that list will be big with the tuning community. Though I'd have to say the new mustang, the new Camaro, the new GTO if it ever comes out, and the new T/A if it ever comes out will be big ones.
I think a lot of it depends on which community you're talking about though. The ricers will be ALL over the new Supra, the new Celica and the new S-18 (I THINK that's what it'd be, though I"m not sure..) The Genesis I"m not so sure of, because it doesn't have as much "history" with the tuner community, so it might take a little while for people to warm up to it methinks. Though once it starts catching on it wouldn't surprise me. The Tibby's a$$bagishness did a lot to sully the waters for people that would've normally been Hyundai fans I think.
The newest issue of Street Tuner magazine has the Genesis in there saying it could be the next drift car. I honestly think if it has the aftermarket support, it could be the new Civic or Integra, by new I mean the next best tuner.
I wouldnt consider owners who want a Supra or Celica ricers, only if they add a 5" tip on their exhaust with a 3 tier wing and 20" rims with a non painted bodykit. I like the new Supra, but I dont think its for me. Both of my Stangs should be paid off around 2010 so I'll be on the hunt for my next car. Going from paying $910 per month for my cars to $0 is gonna be badass, might just pickup the new Vette by then, or a Cobra if SVT wants to make one.
Very true about the Challenger, I'll add it. It should be a pretty sweet car that can be built, and it actually has a 6spd manual coming in it, and the R/T has a manual option.
what about those new turbo slobalts, they look like they will have some serious potential once the aftermarket gets some parts for them
plus they are super cheap
+1
won't it already have some aftermarket considering that the motor has been in the Solstice and Sky for a little while now?? it's literally the same 2.0 turboed Ecotec motor.
^^^^ they do have aftermarket but for ive heard on the cobaltss.net site that is very limited to the amount of power the trans will take and the block as well. iwhine may be able to chime in a drop some wisdom from his future herd.
