View Full Version : Hood!!!
Smokin6er 05-07-2008, 11:06 PM So my car was sitting outside of a friends house at a party, when i went to leave i came to find that some bastard put a hammer through my hood. So i have to replace it know and i am looking for a good cowl induction hood, preferably 3-4 inches. Also prices and sites would be good.
HornyHornyHippo 05-07-2008, 11:20 PM Thats gay that somebody did that. But hey, how can you argue with a reasonable excuse for a new hood:D
Smokin6er 05-07-2008, 11:30 PM I know i've been contemplating a new hood for a while now, and i guess this is the perfect excuss to go through with it.lol.
HornyHornyHippo 05-07-2008, 11:51 PM Lol reminds me when i was hit from behind, i was with my friends and we were so psyched because that ment i got the bodykit on and a new hood. The guy who hit us was like "i guess i did ya a favor'
You lookin at carbonfiber hoods at all? Save ya money on paint!
Smokin6er 05-07-2008, 11:56 PM It dosnt really matter as long as its a cowl induction, I really like the way they look.
ARdoller 05-08-2008, 12:25 AM cowl hoods are sweet lookin, but dont you think 3-4" is a little outrageous? id only ever get one that big if i had something in my engine bay that needed it.
something like 2.5" or less would give that nice sleek look, while not making it look unnecessarily huge.
mysteed 05-08-2008, 01:09 AM I'd recommend going with a Cervini's cowl hood. They may be a bit pricey compared to other companies but the fit and finish it top notch. Well worth it IMO.
RyansQuick6 05-08-2008, 08:56 AM Kaenen, Mine looks better than my friends Cervini's. I have a 4 1/2", he has the Cervini's 2.5"
The 2.5" is too subtle if you as me, but the 4 1/2" is downright mean lookin.
You can order them from MPS, Mine was around $480 shipped, and when on perfectly with no adjustment needed.

I Totally Agree! [sm=smiley20.gif]
The Yellow Pinto 05-08-2008, 01:43 PM first of all, id start asking around to find out who did it. get a mutual friend that everyone likes to ask around, see if someone brags about his little joke. id flip completely out on someone who vandalized my car like that.
second, good luck on the new hood. i think a 2.5 or 3 inch cowl looks nice..but the guy who put the hammer thru your hood should pay for it.

Have either of you seen one in person? It makes a huge difference to sit behind a hood than to see it on the interweb. Everyone around me loves my 4 1/2 and the guys with little 2 1/2" hoods wish they would've bought one like mine, theirs look tiny and not even custom.
00_whitesxr 05-08-2008, 03:58 PM hey ryan how much was your front bumper im thinking of getting on just like it but i see theres two holes where the fog light go what the inner hole for and where did you get it im about to paint my car and i might get a new front bumper to go along with the rear gt bumper
RyansQuick6 05-08-2008, 04:09 PM I got mine off of ebay with the fogs, bought the bezels and chin from ford, it's cheaper at ford than ebay amazingly enough for those 2 things.
The inner holes are really nothing, but mine are going to be connected to my brake cooling kit.
00_whitesxr 05-08-2008, 04:31 PM you can put a chin spoiler on the cobra bumper?
RyansQuick6 05-08-2008, 04:53 PM It has one stock, it doesn't really look like a mach 1 style but if you look at thefirst pic it has it on there
00_whitesxr 05-08-2008, 05:07 PM Yeah i see it you. Dont really need it right away do you? cuz if i dont ill put it off untill later
Smokin6er 05-08-2008, 05:24 PM The guy that did it did pay for it he is in the hospital right now. Hey ryan where did you get that hood from man tahts exactly what i want?
RyansQuick6 05-08-2008, 05:51 PM I got it from MPS. It's a Keanen 4 1/2"
Smokin6er 05-08-2008, 06:20 PM Do they have a link?

ScottXL 05-08-2008, 09:24 PM SVT all the way!
Haha. Baller front end after that. Gauraunteed head-turner. Now you just need a BOV so you can knock in the clutch. People'll think you're fast! *v'room*
Smokin6er 05-08-2008, 09:29 PM Ya Ive always liked the cobra r front bumper and hood but there are several with that kit around here and i want something that is going to stand out from the rest.
Smokin6er 05-08-2008, 09:32 PM Maybe ill go with the 4.5 inch cowl hood with the cobra r front bumper that would be aswome looking.
