I have a '98 Teksid motor with a forged rotating assembly, '98 heads and intake. I would like to put this motor in my 2000 GT. I have '99 Cobra valve covers (to keep my COP ignition), wiring harness (again for COPs) and fuel rail (to keep my returnless fuel) which solved the biggest issues with the swap. My last issue is with the IRMC plates. My 2000 GT computer will not know what to do with those IRMC plates. I have heard of people using a NOS window switch that powers the IRMC controller to open the plates at 3000 rpms. I dont want to delete the IRMCs, as I hear that it effects torque. Any ideas on this? Has anyone done this swap or know someone who has done this swap? How do you get around the IRMCs without going to '99 heads and intake?

Thanks

Another guy on here made a window switch but I read that he was considering taking it out so just do like the rest of us with swaps and do a imrc delete.

The problem I ran into was the computer has 1/2 step tables off extra spark that it adds. If and when you get it tuned, or if you ever do, the problem lies in the extra spark tables and Ford has over 15 tables to choose from. Even then, you have to make tweeks. My tuner is very good and he couldn't get anywhere with mine. I had a switch hooked up and my computer is for my 96 motor. I just finished making my delete's tonight actually and will be putting them on this weekend.  I can make you delete's out of my aluminum 96 one's if you want? Pm me if interested. Either way, forget about the IMRC's. We did two pulls back to back: IMRC functioning and IMRC tied open... The IMRC's tied open only lost a mere 2-3hp and  about 10ft/lbs of torque down low for a 200-300rpm window at about 2250-2450 and then it picked right back up even as if they were functioning.  Don't be fooled by people telling you that they lost 60 ft/lbs. Their full of it!

Thanks guys

I posted on another site as well and got mostly the same reply. They felt as long as I ran a lower gear, I would not notice the loss of torque. I have 4.10s in the car now, so I am all set there.

Ruffcat - thanks for the offer, but I am going to have to pass for now. I spent all my money on the forged lower end :)
