My dad has an 03 zo6 millenium yellow, it has a blakwing intake and kooks longtubes and catted X. Two days after the header install on my way to prom,(daddy let me take his car) i ran into a red gt500 and he was talking smak at a light, there were some people infront of me we were like third in line and i said well you wanna run that thing, he goes "this thing has 500 horsepower" i said i dont care how uch it has cause it aint enough. He says " fine you will find out the hard way so we cruise to the next light and it turns yellow as we approach so we stop and are first at line at the light. the light turns green and we both floor it, each hitting the rev limiter in first, when i grab second im a fender in front, by the time i hit third im 3/4 infront, when i shut it off in 4th @ 110 im a car and a half. enough said.

Why are people putting up videos of modified gt500 (KB) videos? This is a stock vs stock race...The truth is you need to dump another 5K into a KB to hang with a stock Zo6.

With the average strip-familiar driver behind the wheel, I'd guess something like 11.2 or 11.3 maybe. Either one of which would still be a bus-length or two ahead of a GT500 on a good day at sea level with a pro driver. I don't blame you for being lazy, lol, I've been at work going on 14hrs right now, so I don't feel like doing jack-sh!t until the next shift decides they want to show up.. lol

Part of me doesn't want to race because I love the GT500 so much. It's like beating up your little brother. It's the owner that's running his mouth that makes me want to blow his doors off. He's the same way with his business. Yapping all the time about how my company should do this or that and all the while we make 10 times what his does. He's just a blowhard. Wanting to race a car that costs $30,000 more, has more hp and weighs 800+ pounds less is as dumb as it gets. Plus I am not stock. I have a good 30 rwhp over a stock Z06 - not a ton, but even more to add to the raping. In a perfect world, I'd also own a GT500 that I've modded and I'd use that to smoke him with. [:D]

Ed - you'll own him like pimp own's his ho's on a Sat night!!!! it will not even be close IMO.... I've run a Z06 and seen that same car run a Shelby GT making 460 @ the wheels with 4.10 gears. The Z walked me hard and walked the Shelby as well. Z06>GT500 /

The Z06 does cost roughly $25K more, $25K into a GT500 would smoke a stock Z06 at same price. But the fact remains that its a stock gt500 and you will still beat a stock GT500. I own one and I'll admit it [;)] It's kind of like comparing apples to oranges to me though...completely different purpose from a sports car to a muscle car. I still think I might have a chance against a Z06 around here though because the drivers arthritis would kick in while he's trying to shift hehe. JK, I'm sure most GT500 owners around here are pushing retirement age too.

Just make sure he's not giving you a line of ***. My neighbor handed me my ass when I raced his Z06 with a tune and pulley. I got half a car on him 3 months later with the 2.8 KB. I did lie and told him I only had the exhaust done.[8\|] He might have been feathering it thinking it would be an easy win. He's been aching for a re match.
