most are auto, as the v6 was made primarily as a DD car.

I have an auto and enjoy it. Sometimes I wish I had a manual, and most times I couldn't be happier I picked an auto.

Kind of a useless question.. lol.. doesnt solve anything really.. but I contributed nonetheless..

Thank you for your vote. I'm not trying to solve any question, just curious what the members have.

^agreed. Most 6ers I see have the auto. Mine has the auto, I had zero choice in that since I got it used for a steal.

I wondered this too. Personal preference but theres no way in hell I would by an auto in a sports car. I had to look long and hard to find a 5 speed in grabber orange!

I have 5 Fords and 4 are autos, so I had to have some fun sometime.

I do think there are less manuals made because of the number of rentals being used are autos. When I purchased my Mustang, they didn't have any manuals on the lot. I specifically wanted a manual and the Pony Package in Vista Blue with leather seats. He called their sister store across the bay and they just had one come in on a car carrier. I told the salesmen, "Go get my car!"  It was nice to buy a car with only 3 miles on it.

OK, I'll bite.....because so far there is no arguing, name calling or off topic post. Barry just wants to see what members here are driving. What's the harm in that?
Don't let the term "mod" go to your head thinking you have the authority to lock topics "just because."

Matt,

Your sig has "2005 Black GT Stick 1 of 368"

You must be pretty excited about that to go to the trouble of having that as part of your sig.

Well I'm pretty excited that I have a manual transmission and just wanted to see what the ratio of manual to autos where among Mustang enthusiast on this forum.

Why is a manual faster?

From what I understand, some tests that were done by various car magazines found the manual transmission to be just a few seconds faster than an auto.
I agree with some posters here, if I had to drive the Mustang as my DD, I probably would have bought an auto. There are all kinds of reasons why we all bought what we did.

My six-banger is a manual.

I originally wanted an auto (because I had never driven stick before, and had no idea how to) but the car I ended up working out a deal on was a manual, so that was that.

In hindsight, I'm very glad I didn't get what I originally wanted.  My Mustang is my daily driver, and it has absolutely converted me to cars with manual transmissions.  I will never again touch an auto, the driving experience just isn't as fun.
