65 6cyl Coupe Disc Conversion

J1965K -> 65 6cyl Coupe Disc Conversion (5/7/2008 5:09:57 PM)

I'm sure tons of people have asked most of these questions I have so just bare with me. I have a '65 Coupe straight 6. I am going to be putting disc brakes on the front and I don't want to use single piston calipers like all of the 6 cyl. conversion kits have. I can't find a kit I want so I'm going to have to piece one together. Now for the questions:

1. I want to put V8 5lug spindles on the car, what else to I need to change? I've been told the tie rods, but I've also been told all of the linkage?

2. Anyone know a good place to buy V8 spindles?

3. Anyone have a list, or a good idea of all the parts I will need if I am going to piece together my own kit?

Another question, off topic, but where do the neutral switch and the reverse switch on my C4 plug into?

Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

Most use the granada spindles but they give you single piston calipers too.Stock v8 mustang spindles you have to get used from http://www.mustangjunkyard.com/ http://www.perogie.com/ http://www.ilovemymustang.com/ ebay.com and many other places.
With the v8 spindles the oem brakes are 4 piston or you can go after market baer wilwood etc id use http://www.mustangsteve.com/cobrabrakes.html its a cheap way to get baer brakes baer is pbr same thing the cobra uses and cobra rotors and pads are cheaper.Heres something to read http://www.mustangsteve.com/tierodbushings.html

You don't say where you are but CJ's Pony Parts in Pa has a salvage yard and the All Ford Nationals are in Carlisle PA next month.

Yeah I live in AZ right now, I'm just gona buy some V8 spindles and use those bushings that Mustang Steve offers, that looks like the cheapest and hastle free option. Thank you for the advice, and I'm sure I'll have some more questions soon.

Is it worth it? I was just going to go with the CSRP swap seems like it will be enough. besides then I would need to piece together a kit. . . which since I'm buying spindles would include hubs and would probly be pretty expensive.
