Default Is mustang the right car for me?

Sup everyone? I'm brand new to the forums so sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum. I was just wondering if when I turn 16 ( im currently 15 with a permit) a mustang is right for me. I'm paying for my car so I was looking into mustangs because they're affordable for me. Anywase i was just wondering if a mustang is good first car for a 16 year old driver.

I am also 15w/ permit and I will be driving my moms mustang (which she gave to me)

The insurrance is not a whole lot because the fox bodys arn't worth a whole lot at this time... it depends on the year you get...

I wouldn't get a brand new mustang for my first car (even if I could afford it).

Hell yes. Mustangs make a great first car. Just dont be stupid and wrap it around a tree like many other teenagers do.

What I would suggest is if your thinking of buying a fast car and its your first car, play it smart and go to a high performance driving school. A reputable school that will teach you how to regain control of the car in bad situations, drifting, high performance driving, and how to handle a performance vehicle. Yes it will cost a pretty penny, but they will teach you things that could get you killed trying to learn on your own. Its a controlled environment with all safety precautions taken, and if I had it to do all over again thats where my money would have gone instead of mods 1st. Both of my sons will attend some sort of high performance driving school, but I always prefer safety over speed lol.

you should get one with a v8. v6 stangs are weak. if you're gonna get a 6banger, you might as well get a volvo. get the v8. American v8s are more reliable than american v6s. I don't think you need high-performance driving school for a mustang. it's not a ferrari. hell, it ain't even as fast as an ls1 as much as I don't want to admit it. I think mustangs are very easy cars to drive, they don't have gobs of torque that make it impossible to launch during normal driving, and the newer ones are geared down so much anyone can drive it. Just don't be a show off and you'll be fine.
