Default MSD Ignition box

Hey guys, quick question about an MSD (or Mallory, for that matter) ignition box. I have a built 347 and C4 auto in my 67. Today I have a Mallory Unilite ignition and Pertronix flame thrower coil. The car is definitely a street driver. Is an MSD or Mallory ignition box worth the expense for me? What gains (HP, etc) would I see, or is it not worth the expense for me? What if I replaced the distributor, coil, and added an ignition box? Noticeable gain, or waste of $$$ for a street driver? You can see my Mallory in this pic....thanks!!!!

I would say it is a waste of money. Now that I say that I have to confess I am using one on my engine. The ony reason why is I am running a supercharger and wanted more spark to ignite the extra fuel I am pumping into it. I also had some problems with the boost blowing the spark plugs out. If I was N/A I would have saved the $200+ I spent on my box.

Your probably not going to get any HP gains but the advantage comes from the reliability.

If you still running points then the MSD will provide trouble free performance for years...if you have already done the electronic ignition route and its working fine then no need to mess with anything.
