Full bolt ons, I still believe the OP would have won,

That makes 1 of us I guess.

good kill. he won until proven otherwise.

x2.  He won.

There isn't really any question here other than 'what mods did he have'...  full bolt-ons to me = EVERYTHING.

I question the full bolt ons vs 'most' of the bolt ons, but I don't question the kill one bit.  Make sense to everyone?

drhoward -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 7:29:40 AM)

well what is "full bolt ons" for a LS1?

USMCrebel -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 7:36:24 AM)

i consider full bolt on
H/C/I, lid, bigger, TB, headers, mid pip, catback, DR/Slicks skinny's, and suspension.

94GT300 -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 7:44:52 AM)

I would consider a full bolt on ls1 to be:
for a 98-00 car LT's, Catback, LID, Ls6 Intake
for an 01-02 car all the same but minus the intake.

How the hell is a HCI swap considered a bolt on, thats retarded

Well I guess my nitrous system is a bolt on then[8D]

I can see where the problem'd be in thinking about it like that, but an H/C/I swap doesn't force anything into the engine. A juice kit does. So it might not "exactly" be a bolt on, but it's not F/I either. [;)]

USMCrebel -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 8:10:22 AM)

well...everything technically bolts on to the motor right, hell it's harder to change spark plugs on some cars that it is to take the heads off....so its all how you look at it.

b/c i mean really how much work is really involved in pulling the heads off, not much rebuilding is a differnt story, putting back on again not much.

i guess a cam owouldnt be my mistake....internal is non bolt on, anything outside is ............or you could go with an intake exhaust and things that bolt to piece of the motor

JD1969 -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 8:21:18 AM)

In the LSx world heads and cam are definatly NOT considered bolt ons.
Bolt ons for them is
Lid
MAF
Intake
roller rockers
undrive pulley
headers
y-pipe
cat back
cut out
gears
tune
converter
suspension
Smart guys will also delete the AC and run a short belt to bypass the power steering (good for at least 1-2 tenths)
For referance I have a buddy with a full weight 01 Z/28, he has a Yank 4000 SS converter, 3.42 gears, headers, tune and drag radials. The car runs 12.3-12.5 pretty regularly. Like I have said many times on this subject, many LSx cars do not perform as well as what they should because the owners are dumb. The add mods that do nothing or env hurt performance and then think they are flying. The mods that I do to mine and that my friends do are tried and true, proven combinations, that's why our cars run better than average.

I dont think Heads and Cams Fall ANYWHERE near Bolt-ons.   So do u consider all the beastly N/A Guys  on the forums that they are Full bolt-on's......

USMCrebel -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 8:29:09 AM)

ok well since the majority is against my reasoning i concede. head are not bolt ons even though they do bolt on[:D]

IWHINE -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 8:37:43 AM)

you forgot a electric water pump, a ported or larger tb unless you meant that by intake,

JD1969 -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 8:46:06 AM)

Damn I knew I left somthing off.

Good kill's OP....   Get some vids...[:D] you and IWHINE

z28_06374 -> RE: raced a full bolt-on ls1 with a tune and more!! (5/8/2008 9:43:31 AM)

Anything that touches motor oil is not a bolt on in Lsx land, but I only have 4 posts what the hell do I know...
