Real fair fight!My Bullitt cost $31,900 so that puts it at an $8000 disadvantage.How about we get closer and put it against my GT500,Oh wait they already did and the Challenger took an ass whipping.I think it beat the GT500 in the brake test by 1 ft.Big deal.

Yeah they mentioned the GT500, commenting on "oh but it has a live rear axle and the same interior as standard mustangs." Meh, its one comparo out of literally thousands. Can't win 'em all.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I'm forced to stare at a Challenger's tail lights against my will...........unless I'm stuck behind one in traffic.[8D] They're beautiful cars and I'd love to own one, but make no mistake.....they will be play things to well set up Mustangs and Camaros.

At least the 2008 Bullitt stands by itself. The 2008 Challenger looks alot like the new Chevy Camaro. I saw a picture of it in the new Motor Trend magazine and both cars look exactly the same.

The GT whipped that ass. Guess that's why they upped it to the SRT8. All things equal though, the Bullitt is a low 13 second car (13.2) and the SRT8 is a high 12 second car (12.9)..........at their best. Alot closer for a 100+hp difference than an SRT8 owner would like, to be sure.[;)]

I think it's kind of funny that the new charger is heavier than the older one. The mustang is by far better than the charger. It beats it in the 1/4 mile already and the mustang is cheaper. Put the differance in turbo for the mustang and sit back and laugh at the charger.

08 Bullitt 2310 i HEAR YA BRO'! i love your cobra too! i saw a white one with blue stripes for $62K the day i got my saleen and if my billfold was just a hair deeper, i might've got it, but i definitely know what you mean about letting a challenger....Fk, fight or watch the taillights!

WTF?? The best they could do was a 0-60 in 5.4 seconds and a high 13 for a quartermile time? Are they sure they werent testing the 01 2V Bullitt?? They must have been granny shifting that car or just plain not driving it hard enough to only get a 13.7 out of it. The 08 Bullitt is and easy low to mid 13 car.

C'mon we all know a high 13 sec bullitts are common for fords. Also the only way to have a Challenger vs mustang showdown would be SRT-8 vs Roush or Saleen supercharged editon. Thats the only mustang offered in the 400 hp range. But then again it wouldn't be a fair fight according to all of you crying foul over the price difference. SRT ($39,000) vs Saleen/Roush ($47,000). Isn't it sad that it takes ford two retired racing drivers to get their "limp" engines into the 400hp range thanks to superchargers. You guys are welcome to come over to Dodge or GM where viagra is not needed with the engines.

Each car had their advantages and disadvantages... The Challenger weights ~600lbs more, no limited-slip, automatic, but it does have over 100 more hp, and was running performance tires. The Bullitt weights ~600lbs less, limited slip, manual trans, but the car they tested was running all-season tires. ...Give the Bullitt some better tires and tune, and it'll run right next to if not beat the Challenger. I'm more interested to see the V6 Mustang and Challenger compared than the V8s.
