Just shipped my car cross-country (Cali to NY!)....and it was delivered with oil/dirt all over it

I brought it to the car wash, tipped the guy $10 so he would let it go through.........and while a lot of it is off, there is still residue

Any suggestions on a product that will remove it, without removing the paint too?

What kind of oil, and more importantly....how in the hell did that happen, was the truckers rig blowing oil

I would think Bug & Tar remover would do the trick.  Just spray it on and then wipe it down good with a micro-fiber.  Then wash it and proceed to a 2-3 step polish, glaze and wax.....or at a minimum get a good coat of wax on it after using the Bug & Tar remover.

I'd use a good foamer and foam the whole car and let it sit for a while to see if that breaks it down any. Then if you need to, do a hand wash. Just be ready to throw away any wash mitts you use if they get a lot of oil on them.

i agree with aj and soaxeman

if you decide on going with the foaming route you can also throw in some PH balanced APC. something like obsessive detail APC, or optimum power clean, or meg's safe APC

let us know how it turns out!

I imagine that it was on the bottom of the car carrier with some POS car leaking on top of it.....
