I know im like the 1000th person to ask but i was reading through posts and thought i had something fully understoood however i guess i was wrong. It seems that with my 07 pony package i have the safety package so tcs meaning i can turn off the annoying grabbing when im playing in snow rain etc. (which i know im dumb for doing) anyway i had the idea that it simply allowed power to flow equally through both wheels. Mainly because ive done burn outs with both wheels spinning, now that i read and research though it doesnt seem like something that happens everytime you burnout. And lately i can only burn one wheel out. So to get power flow through both wheels all the timei would have to buy a Limited slip but handling would be sacrificed. Can someone please either explain this to me or tell me if im on the right track. Thank You.

Well Im not sure what you are asking but If you like to play and do burnouts and want both wheels to get spinning you will need to instal a LSD. I do not think you will sacrifice any handling if you get into the gas to hard with a LSD in a turn it makes it easyer to get the ass end to come around but if you drive normal no problem. If you want to get better traction from both wheels get a LSD from what you are saying in your post you will have a lot of fun till you crash it from playing in the snow or rain to hard. I plan on getting one for my car too. Ford should of put one in in to begin with IMO
Yeah you got the jist of wht i was asking. :-). I was just curious since i couldnt see droppin $500-700 so i could do burnouts with both wheels, although i could see that much if your using it in racing applications.So is it impossible to do a two wheel burnout in a stock 6 or just unlikely?
I don't think the limited-slipaffectsmyhandling at allbut it is nice to have in bad weather and on fast take offs. One wheel spins are lame. You can get a Fordlimited-slip for about $200.00 but it will cost much more(depending on who doesit)to have it installed right. On wet or icey roads both wheelscan spin on an open differential BUT only one will actuallyput the power to the road.

Seems like a lot of people just don't understand the TCS thing. From what I understand, TheTCS system will apply braking to the wheel that is slipping. It is part of the ABS system. It is not at all any kind of posi traction or trac loc, or limited slip. With a limited slip, when one rear wheel spins, it transfers power to the other rear wheel. With TCS when one rear spins it applys brakes to try to stop the tire from spinning. Just for the record IT SUCKS!!!! I turn it off every timeI get into the car

With an open diff, wouldn't stopping the one wheel from spinning send power to the wheel with traction? I think so.
