SHR louvers are nice. For the cost of the painted ones (approximately $350.00) and then the hastle of installing them, it's not worth it to me.
I agree. The thought of taking the 1/4 window out bothers me plus the fact most guys who removed theirs broke them makes me not want the Silver Horse brand. I know I could find some other cool mod with the change left over from Wheelskin.

Suggestion: before you install the louvers, clean the glass with Rain-X or wax. This will keep it clean for a while. Good choice on the louvers, they'll look great!

Sorry to disagree but do not do this because the 3M tape needs to stick to the glass and you need to remove the Wax or Rainx to install the louvers.
I do love the looks I got to know how did you install them. I think I would just bust the glass out If I go this rout. I here It is faster to Install if you just bust it out.
Clean the windows with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove wax or other silicone or anything that is on the glass. Peal off the tape and stick them on with the weather temp at 70 or higher so the tape will activate if cooler then 70 heat up the glass with a hair dryer then heat up the lovers after installed. That is all Good luck it is Easy

Hopyfully mine will ship as fast as yours (the email reply I received said up to 2 weeks if the item needs to be painted).
Bought my shorty antenna from americanmuscle.com - I opted for the 14-inch as well, which is the same as the roof line height. Radio reception actually seems better than with the stock antenna. But it doesn't seem as resilient - pretty sure it would get bent if I went thru a car wash.
The SHR ones are nice looking but I agree with some others: the cost, and fact you must remove the factory glass and adhesive, is a bit daunting.

First off. Who's most? My windows are in 1 piece in the attic. The only people whos broke are stupid window shops who don't care to take the time to get them out in 1 piece. Lets just get stick on ones that do not belong, you guys can hate me all you want. Think about it, $180 painted? The OP asked opinions. You get what you pay for, remember that.
I have to ask. Why do people spend $20+ to get a shortened antenna when you can make your own for the cost of JB weld and a rattle can. Which most people already have?

redfreshaker06, I don't hate you. If anything I envy you! I love the look of the Silver Horse Racing Louvers and think they are the best looking ones on the market. I just don't trust myself taking the window out. Not only that but the SHR louvers don't come painted correct? Even if they did, the price is waaaaay to much for an appearance mod. Sure Wheelskin is a "stick on" louver which is no worse than some of the other stick on mods Mustangers have.
i like them have you considered wheelskin.com i ordered my louvers there and they were only 170 painted my color and everything plus they give u a discount for being in the mustang forums if u need tha code just let me kno they said i could give it to everybody
