Hey guys im getting close to rebuilding the 200 and throwin it back in the car. I want to Install a more agressive cam in there without having to change out air/fuel system. I want to keep that stock. I want something that is gonna sound nice. Let me kno what you guys are using.

Any mild out of the box cam would be an improvement. A header from Clifford would be a wise add on.
We are building an aluminum head 200 now. Comp Cams is providing a custom grind.
I have messed with these engines before and I feel the stock head is a disaster in engineering.
I'm running a cam package I got through http://www.classicinlines.com/ The cam is a Clay Smith 264/274 duration, 112 lobe center cam. I got a 1.5 adjustable rocker set and a dual chain timming set as part of the package. I'm currently running this set up on a stock small log head with standard size valves and a stock Autolite 1bbl carbthrough Clifford 6 into 2 headers. The exhaust is on two two inch pipes and Flow Masters. The car sounds great.

I also have the Clifford Headers with the X Pipe and daul exhaust. There is an increase in power but the nicest thing it sounds good and I like the look of the dual exhaust.

Sorry, can't answer that one. Have not done a dyno on it as I just got it back to running after a failed attempt to do an Offy3 x 1 adapter and this is only a temporary fix just to get it back to running after it and me being down for over a year and a half. I've got a D7 large log head and a new Webber 32/36 2 bbl that I've got in the garage that I hope to put togather next year depending on my health and the budget. I convertedthesuspension to five lug with an 8 inch rear6 years ago and I've just gotten a lower set of rear gears, 3.5 to 1, to replace the stock 2.7 to 1. One of the best things I have done which I have recommended in another thread is to convert to a later model ignition system. I used the electronics, distributor and wiring from a 1981 Mercury Zepher (same as Ford Fairmont, but any system from a '79 through '84 Ford200 inline) that hadthe200 cid. I eventuallyreplaced the Motocraft module with an MSD and the coil with one from a '74 Maverick. I've had this car for over 16 years and it has never ran as strong or sounded as good as it does now.

If you do the Clifford header, do it before you put the engine in the car. The supplied port divider requires trimming to fit the port. With the head on the bench, it's easy. With the head in the car, well??
There are also at least 2 header bolts that are almost impossible to get on. They are right under the pipe. I assume it would be breeze to put these on with the engine out.
