I have a 1966 6-cyl automatic mustang and I'm trying to disconnect the speedometer cable at the transmission housing, and it looks as if it should pop right out, but it doesn't.  How do you remove that section from the transimssion?

Most of them have a clip that holds the cable to the adapter. i just took the adapter out ( 1 small bolt and it pops right out)
