Only half a day after clicking the button to order the parts and I'm already wondering why the stuff isn't on my doorstep yet. Using this post to try to keep myself from going nuts (same tactic used when I had to wait 10 days for my mustang after I signed for it!)

I'm pretty surprised at myself, I was set on ordering my CAI and tunes from Brenspeed pretty much since I got the car and signed up here back in december 07. Loved the testimonials and their website, but as I started getting ready to pony up the cash I looked around more and found the Intake/Tuner/Tunes(87 mileage, 87 perf, 91 perf)/GT muffler take-off package from VMP. I miss out on a fancy nice looking elbow but after reading around a bit I feel like I can trust Justin's claims that the stock tube is adequate, might spring for it another time. The take-off is what really sold me on the deal as I was planning on getting one anyway (not planning on going dual). The package is $599 with free shipping, I feel it's a great deal.

I was happy with that order but I was still itching to get a little more without adding too much coin so I checked around to see if any prices dropped on my mod wishlist. Checked the latest spoilerstore prices and the painted GT500 style one is down to $89 + $30 shipping so I said why not!

Anyway, I'm very excited about my first performance mods and getting rid of my ugly pony package spoiler. I always though it was funny how antsy people got on these forums waiting for their mods to get to them but I really understand it now haha.

I've already heard many great things about the spoiler and VMP's tuning quality but has anyone else ordered that specific package? Just curious.

I'm running the same package from VMP(but 93 octane)and just love it. I use his 93 mileage tune all the time and my car runs great. The 87 mileage tune is very good for highwaytravel and gave me 27.58 mpg(399.5 miles & 14.482 gals)on a recent trip from Ala. to NY. My mods are as described inmy signature and as you can see the car runs hard!

Awesome. I would have gotten the 93 but it looks like I can't find it around here anymore. I'd love to snag some of those mods for myself, particularly an 8.8 rear. I can afford it but egh... I hate to spend money haha.

hee hee, just got my spoiler. Took a peek at it. Looks nice, paint isn't superior quality and I can see a few very light scratches (it's black, so I'm not holding it against anyone) but it's sure damn great for what I paid. I'll take pics of it tomorrow, I'm sure it's nothing special but some people might be interested. Gonna try getting it installed before work! Or at the very least get my old spoiler off.

I didn't feel like going around looking for the heavy duty braided fishing line or whatever it is that everyone says to use, I just folded some packaging tape with the strings in it over itself and used that. I don't really recommend it because it did leave some light scratches but I'm sure I would have done that with the fishing line anyway. The car being black it's almost guaranteed that there will be the slightest evidence of the battle of ripping that old damn spoiler off. Some polish got most of it out, I'm sure with a little more time I could get rid of it completely. Anyway, Goo Gone was a definite YES in effectiveness, the residue just came right off. Cleaned the trunk, wiped it with alcohol, filled the unused holes with black rtv, stuck the new one on, bing bang boom it looks perfect. I really couldn't be happier. Well, as soon as my VMP package gets here I just might be happier.

and some pictures for your viewing pleasure

side by side, as you can see the adhesive material looks like a pita to deal with, and it is.
also, pony spoiler the bolts are connected to it, the gt500 you screw them into it.
