Sorry to hear that though. I say you get to training/deployed as soon as possible to get funds up, that is if you finish school first.

dude, that sucks  - sorry to hear about your loss

buy a junkyard motor from megual's used auto parts off the beltway, and we can fix that up. if not then sell me some of your mods. you did say it's an autotragic right?

A PI Engine with mid miles (50-70k) can be had for cheap... in the 700-1000 area.

You can get it running again, and with more power than before.

it could be collapsed lifters or something gay, if its only on 1 cylinder

id look into it before ditching the engine

can you not diagnose it yourself?

id say fast track your deployment, and get someone back home to buy parts for you, that way when you get back, everythings ready to go, no waiting for parts, engine work/ etc.

call a popular engine builder, spill the beans about your deployment, and your engine dieing, set something up with him to build you a bad ass engine, spend the money and do it right so it will last, and have a complete engine ready to go when you get back!

ok lets get something straight...i took it to USA racing engines, strictly performance, and M&J auto....ive had compression checks done more than once. ive had the valve covers off more than once. ive had a full electronic engine diagnostic done on it. AND NOBODY CAN GIVE ME A DEFFINATE ANSWER. in fact every1 tells me something different.

but anyways, my idea is ether go find a donor car w/ a pi motor, OR wait till after my training and buy a dss long block. anyway i slice it tho its gonna have more power after im done rebuilding it tho.

edit: but thanx for the support to those of u who gave it.

99 and 01 r windsor tho right? different timing chain cover and valve covers right? or am i just retarded?

oh and pi stands for performance improved. its basicaly just a better h/c/i design from ford that they put on the new edge gt's and a few other things. my car is a non pi. its the orginal 4.6 design and it SUCKS.

edit: i have done some research and made some phone calls, a new set of npi heads from ford is 2800 after the core charge is refunded. a new pi motor from ford is 3000 or so after the core charge. o'rielly's wants 2900 for a pi crate motor. i can buy a set of performance npi heads from ford racing for 1600. i think a new set of pi heads from ford racing is like 1800. havnt looked for used heads/motor yet but the last time i did i found a set of heads for 700. but i really dont wanna buy used parts cuz i really dont want something like this happening again.

i can hook you up with a set of npi heads for super cheap. theres this place over my 610 thats called "the head shop", you can take them there to get them worked. you can port npi heads more than you can pi heads
