okay so i have a choice, ive got about 400$ or so and beacuase i got a good SAT score, my dad is willing to pitch in around 350-300$ for a new car mod. Now i can either combine my money and my dads and get these rims http://www.americanmuscle.com/chfrwh1.html (http://www.americanmuscle.com/chfrwh1.html) or i can get powdercoated BBK headers, and he would pay for them. Any other time i would go for the rims but the problem is i got this crack on my right manifold and i need to fix that, which getting the new headers would do just that. Now i need some advise on this decision. if i get the rims then i wouldnt be able to run my car very hard due to the crack :/. but if i get the headers, i would miss out on the sweet look of the rims. DECISIONS DECISIONS!

How large is the crack? Passenger side manifold cracks are so common on our cars it isn't funny. Personally, I would never get shorties since they offer no power increase or difference in sound, so I would go with the wheels.

I'd do the wheels too. You won't miss your stockers.
Besides, depending on the size of the crack you can get it welded shut to hold you over until you get the cash to get some Pacesetter or MAC LT's.

I got a set of perfect 00' Manifolds I will let for got $75, pm me if interested. I can have a shop here magnaflux them too if you are worried, just add that to the cost. I think they charge 10 or 15 for the one site.
I would got with Steeda Ultralite rims (17's are lightest)and UDP's. You will gain fuel economy and eventually pay for them and you will be a bit quicker too.
If you go with the FR500's then I suggest black.

Personally if your dad is gonna pay for the headers I would do that and save your money and get the rims a little later. But thats just my opinion. You wouldnt have to save much more for the rims.

RIMS!!!! You'll like the look better and you probably wont notice the differencewith the headersunless you get a full exhaust set up.

I say do both. Get a cheap set of stock replacement manifolds and black DD FR500's.

Not so much. Also, Steedas are lighter but not that much lighter. If you want rims that weigh less look into CCW and other lightweight racing wheels.

Get the rims! As stated above, depending on the size of the hole you get mostlikely get that welded shut. Then you can save up and get longtubes!

SHOW.....or.....GO???
I'd fix the mechanical side first. It's much wiser....and if you do a little shopping around..im sure you can find a cheaper set of headers ... so maybe you can have both

Yup yup...
Go with longtubes though...
The only longtubes now r MAC...
But if u wait a few months Pace Setter is about to come out with some longtubes for out cars...
That's wut I'm waitin for...
Rims would be nice...
And those look good...
But they also look pretty damn heavy...

well here in cali emmisions dont let u have longtubes, so do i have this straight, headers offer no addition in hp? Cuz if thats the case, then im just gunna weld that hole up and get those rims.

You could buy some 94-98 headers for dirt cheap and flow better than the new edge manifolds, and still get some nice rims. That's what I would do. GL

The shorty headers offer no performance gains over the stock headers whereas the Longtubes do.

Nope, shorties are a waste of time, get the Long tubes or 94-98 headers from a junkyard, craigs, ebay, etc...

no contest, replace the manifolds. wheels are nice to have, but why ignore a problem that you can fix, especially if someone else is willing to pay for it?
