Default Types of oil and filter?

Anyone using Royal Purple in their engine? Is this any good or just marketing hype? I used to use Mobil1 in my 01' Ligthning and Mobil1 oil filter. Should i just continue to use Mobil1 or try something different?

I also always use Mobil 1 oil in all my cars (well the one's I care about anyway).

I understand that the Mobil 1 filter is made by Bosch and sold under the Bosch brand name for 50-60% less than the Mobil 1 filter, so I use Bosch filters instead (why pay more for the same thing?).

This might start a war, but I will NEVER use a Fram anything on my cars. Especially oil filters... total junk!

For a good, extensive, documented source of oil and filters and about everything else automotive related, check out www.bobistheoilguy.com.

I use Mobile 1 too in my GT. I've also heard all the crap about Fram but I have to say that I have used Fram in both my 98 Durango (122,000 miles) and my 91 Chev truck (131,000) with Zero engine problems. And its the Chevy I use when my other cars are in the shop. I think its more important the change the oil and filter every 2500 miles, at least in the older ones.
