At the track I normally race at they had just a test and tune day. I usually work on my consistency since I alway bracket race but on the second run I decided to go all-out and see what happens. I let the car cool down, normally, I keep the car warm so I'm consistent from round to round. At the beginning of racing season I told myself I'd be happy if I made it into the 12's, well, here are the numbers.
R/T .613 (very bad for me, .500 is perfect) 60' 1.776 330 5.299 1/8 8.231 MPH 84.21 1000 10.690 1/4 12.911 MPH 104.71
I've been very close in the past, it felt good to finally break the threshold.

very cool indeed , but u could do a lot better with those mods
I really thought so too, but I pretty much ringer her out. I think at a different track I might be able to knock .2 off of it. This track goes uphill before the finish line. I might try Summit Motorports Park this year, supposed to be the fastest track around here.
You wouldn't happen to race at Dragway 42 would you? I've been there a couple times, last time out last fall won the trophy class. Norwalk is a really nice track. I would suggest going on a Wed night if possible, generally less people than on Fri Test-n-Tune.

I have raced 42. I won the street trophy in the second session of their 50th anniversay race last year. The trophy sits on my desk. My second best time is there. I did a 13.02 on my last run of the year. The bumpy track and gravel pits really bother me. Norwalk is a couple hours from me so wednesday's are probably out of the question.
Well done...I hope to see 12s myself this year. :)
so you finally gonna mod huh lol u should nock .2 off if u get that 60' at 1.9 i bet
(forgive me if you have modded )
Well I sorta Modded...haha.. I replaced my tires (they were on the wear bars last fall when I ran)... Track rental is this Saturday. :)
Plus I am bringing my driver mod (My buddy was pulling 1.8 60fts on 18inch street tires last weekend...so I figure I would give him a go at running the car too. If I can touch a 13.0 something is wrong and if the stars align I think I might have a chance for a 12.99. :) Wishful thinking at this point.
After this try though my 1LE springs go on and a lid. (I'll probably go slower with the springs, so the lid will be an equalizer).
Were you the guy that stayed a little longer afterwards to see if I managed to win? My best memory from that night was that was the first time I had ever had the helmet rule enforced on me

I don't think that was me. I was there from the first time trial to the party at the end. Quaker City is pretty thorough with the helmet rule so I've been wearing one for a while. I'd feel weird going down the track without one. A friend of mine got called to the office Sunday because he wasn't wearing his helmet and ran a 13.45.
I had been racing at Norwalk and MCIR, and 42 was the first to call me on it. I had even already bought a helmet about the same color as the car, just didn't have it with me that night. I was just curious because an "older" guy with a blue S197 stayed after he was eliminated because his wife wanted to know if "that wierd Mustang" won

OUCH!!! lmao. I probably am older than you but not that much, I'm 35. And I'm not married. I was there with my 14 year old neighbor who was just starting to get into cars. I had to lead him away from Lambo's and Ferrari's and show what American Iron is about.
Old is a mental state only I'm thinking it was not you. It was him, his wife, and a kid or two. So unless you brought along a couple small children it was just a strange coincidence lol
