running the Stang on the road yesterday. I took a trip out to a friends house in the Mountians yesterday. Once I got there I found out we were supposed to be bringing home a bunch of plants and other BS....should have brought the truck...By the time I got it all loaded, the car and trunk were full...then I topped off the tank for the ride back. Full car, two people in it and the trunk and gas tank full. So no sooner than I pull out and GTO 6.0 pulls up beside me and hangs a while. Starts backing off and catching up several times. The ol' lady says I think he wants to race. So we come to red light and he stays back about half a car to roll the light. I roll out slow till I see him hit it and I do the same except I was just crossing the paint line when I floor it and the tires go up in smoke. I feather the gas and keep it rolling,... I pull him by a couple cars quick then I just keep pulling away slowly until about 85 mph then I shut it down. He comes bye a few seconds latter still in it till he is about a 1/8 mile past me. I tell my GF that he was going to get ahead one way or another. Then I look over to my right and a honda is pulling up beside me and wanting to try me . I laugh at him and waved him on. But He's still there so I mouth the words "YOU MUST BE JOKING" , then look at my girlfriend and just laugh.
I thought the GTO's had more than that. I know I was loaded to over 4,000 lbs when all his was going on.

he probably started in the wrong gear maybe?

judging from your user name, you live in VA? if so, what part?

Nice run. you can count on a stang to outlaunch a gto 90% of the time. But your right, he would have ran you down up top.

I am from the Fredericksburg area. I was out on 29 near Culpepper when the GTO showed up.
I don't think he was in the wrong gear.....Trust me
Yes the tires went up in smoke...I'm runnning nitto 555 DRs 275/40/18s ...UD pullys,.. C&L race intake with 93 Brenspeed tune.....Full magnaflow x pipe and exhaust....Shaftmasters alum .D.S..... Complete BMR rear suspension and some more but whos counting. But I am N.A. still. I would have liked to have been empty and by myself. I would see just how far it would take for him to run me down. I am not to sure he could. I am still running 3:31 gears. They will take me to 145 mph for sure!...

i wave the bs flag. you are loaded and have 2 passengers and out ran a 6.0 gto . i know street racing anything can happen and mustangs out launch gto's most of the time, but he should have run you down by 85mph.

i can see you getting him off the line, and to 60mph staying out frount........ but he should have smoked you past that........

One passenger and a trunk full of plants and clothes in the back seat..... Whatever...I know I run 8.3s in the 1/8.. And 1.9 60 ft. As I said I saw him from the rear view mirror till I shut it down!..... Here's what he saw till then

No doubt they are bad. But I got a buddy at work with a GTO a 5.whatever stock 350 HP and it has some work done to it. Mostly tune and long tubes. He won't pull up beside me and run. I guess I should pull over next time one comes bye.

I never knew!...LOL ....NOT!

If they get that close.. hell I guess its time to open the bottle.
