well what i am soon to come across is a battle that made alot fo front covers on car and driver and motor trend...i am going to be racing my buddies 94 LT1 camaro M6, all stock, nothing done to it against my 94 5.0 mustang which has the mods in my sig.....

      Do you guys think i should walk him?? my cars a 5spd with 3:08 gears, we are boths tiock so is it a drivers race??? i really hope i can beat him...but if not ooo well what do you think???

99GTvert -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/5/2008 8:37:24 AM)

I doubt you would walk him, but it would be close.

Blue07GT -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/5/2008 8:47:11 AM)

Your not going to walk him, actually he should have you by a couple if you both are equal drivers. If you have the driver mod it will be close.

5.0 85 GT -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/5/2008 9:29:33 AM)

i have the driver mod...damn...i raced a 94 lt1 before with my old white 5.0 with 3:73s and he had pipes and so did i and i devoured him, agian i had the driver mod...cerap..im kinda angry, i guess ill get a tb and a cobra intake and some gears to ensure a victory..lol

S8ER01Z -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/5/2008 10:06:25 AM)

Really depends on what you run...Don't suppose you have ever been to a track with it?

tspence45 -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/5/2008 10:31:40 AM)

Should be a good race. As long as his car's been maintained well, opti's fine, and he's a decent driver, he should be able to get you by a little.

drhoward -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/5/2008 10:32:53 AM)

I am pretty sure he will walk you if his car is running right

GET RID OF YOUR CRAPPY E7's

then you will walk him[:D]

OneFastEclipse -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/5/2008 11:11:33 AM)

Even some gears would help a ton.  Put some 4.10's in there, the race will be yours.

silverstang1996 -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/5/2008 6:19:59 PM)

yeah it matters on driver skill but most likely he will get you because the LT1 does have the performance edge.  I just raced a mildly modded GT like yours and mildly modded LT1 and beat them by about the same lengths(i dont think the LT driver gave it it's all or it'd be closer), so if the LT driver isn't so good you'd have a chance

5.0 85 GT -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/7/2008 8:48:12 AM)

nahh hes not the best driver, and i belive is optispark is decent, i rode in it yesterday its pretty quick, i think that with 3:73 i coudl woop him...and yea what heads do u suggest instead of the o sooo famous e7's???? i am gettin a cobra intake for it and a C&L cold air intake for free, so i will bolt those up...

94TealGT -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/7/2008 9:09:56 AM)

I have done this race several times... all very close, mods in my sig... I am 3 for 5 against a mostly stock (mangaflow catback) 1995 pontiac Lt1 auto so i doubt you will win without some gears or another power adder

5.0 85 GT -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/7/2008 9:22:02 AM)

hahaha ok well i am still gonna try and run his lt1gun down

Depends on how much money you want to spend, if you want to go cheap you can pick up some gt40's or gt40p heads, if you want to go aluminum afr 165's or trick flow twisted wedge heads are supposed to be the best

Its really up to you, any of them will be a major improvment over your e7's, trust me[:D]

LT1RUNNER -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/7/2008 3:53:03 PM)

5.0 85 GT -> RE: 94 5.0 vs 94 LT1 (5/9/2008 8:31:10 AM)
