Adam doesnt do my wrenching but he does all of my tuning. I can also vouch for that he does a great job tuning my car. He got me 550rwhp with no tuning only drivability at 5,000rpms on 9 psi and we plan to see any thing from 15-17psi once we are finished at max rpms. The car drives like it is stock and I dont think I would have any one else tune my car other then him.
My turbo maxes out at 16 psi, I could upgrade it but probably won't right now.
I've been shopping around at DSS and MMR and I'm leaning toward an iron block, stroked to 298 ci with all the "small" things added in to make it stronger, more durable.
I'm gonna try and get the car up in the air today to take some pictures of the carnage.
Hey Clint, I was talking to Adam about the lose ends on my build and I told him about your motor. I PM'd you his email address, he can get you in next week or the week after At least call Adam, he has a minimum of 8 10 second daily drivers out there( and a ton of other built motors) with ZERO engine failures that I know of. All his builds are done in house for quality control.
Hey Simon1, I am working Saturday morning, but I can give you hand with the car after that if you need one. But damn that is horrible. I hope my sh!t does not go boom when I try to reload the new tune tomorrow. Sactown

Don't do it! These things tend to come in 3's! OH wait, that's people dying. But that is 2 motors in 2 weeks, so.........

The pics were after motor pulled. Procharger at 6psi professionally tuned. Boost was going out the bypass at the time. I was not even on the throttle much. Had just turned out of my subdivision. New motor in this week.
I know what you mean. I honestly would put 10k in a motor build and do it right. Honestly I'd get a 298cu/in stroker motor and be done with it. It sounds like ST needs to hire some wrenches and expand. They ,miight be loosing customers with their waiting list...

Damn.... Budget?
Budget? What's that mean?
I really don't know. I don't like to toot my own horn, but I have the money to run side by side with Modaddict, but I choose to not do it. I am very , how shall I say, frugal? with my money. Cheap things cost too much, so I buy the expensive ones that last forever.
I am married with little kids so I need to save some for later. LOL

I should be dropping my car off at ST motorsports later this week. I don't have to work until Friday night so I have the time.
Let me be clear to everyone that the explosion was not the fault of anyone but me. I messed with stuff I should not have been messing with or should have saught more professional advice.
The current turbo I have will support 620 horsepower (I beleive that is crank), so somewhere in the mid 500's will be just fine with me. Which is what I am shooting for now.

I sent you a PM.
I don't care if he has the car for a month or two, as long he does right, which I'm sure he will.

I could tell it wasn't a twinscrew because of the knock sensor wires and the stock coolant tube running down the engine valley. Why do you think the motor let go with no boost? That doesn't seem normal, unless something allready cracked or bent on your last jaunt. What were your dyno numbers? You might want to find a new professional.

I have more respect for a shop that would turn me away because they have to much on their plate, than one that would string me along because they don't want to lose any business.
That's what happened with my gears and I found a shop that needed the business. The other shop lost my business forever.

I agree but it's all the same.. When you talk a trade..whether it be electrical, plumbing, hvac or mechanic, reputation will make or brake you.. My point was, as large as California is surely there are enough shops to do the trick. I live in a one trick town and there are two here probably 20 miles apart that I'd trust to build a motor for me..let alon do the work.

I ran 9.5-10.5 psi on mine regularly. If your tune is good, you don't make too much power and you don't mess with stuff you should be fine.
