Okay, so I have an 05' V6 with an X-Charger putting out 270 HP/TQ, 18" 18x9 265/35 front and 18x10 285/35 back, dual exhaust and custom tuned.
So, I'm going out on a limb here. The way I always figured to burnout (for an auto) was to put the car in drive, press on the brake really hard, then start to accelerate until the tires spin.
When that didn't obviously work, I would punch it, let the car only go a couple of feet, then press down on the brake really hard so that way the back tires get moving. But that didn't work either.
Instead, my car seems to move forward (slowly) at about 5-10 mph with the engine not going any higher than about 2500 rpms. Now......am I doing it wrong? Or are my tires too wide and have too much grip on the road? Does my car not have enough power? Or are the V6 front brakes too crappy to keep the front tires from moving?
Let me get some advice or suggestions on burning out, I'm free to criticism and I can admit that I don't know everything about driving or what not. Still a learner and thats cool with me. So, have at it.
In the old days, (and I am what you would consider "old school") We used to call them "Brake torques". What you want to do is press the brake pedal just enough to stop the front wheels from rolling, but not enough to stop the rear wheels from spinning. It is a fine balance and does take some practice. But don't feel bad, in the old days, the cars had front disk brakes but rear drum brakes. This made it a whole lot easier to "brake torque" a car. Now a days with these new fangled motor cars you have disk brakes all around. This makes them much harder to "Torque up". But with that "X" under the hood(you lucky fraggin ragger fizzle flabber) you should have plenty of Torque to pull it off. Just remember you dont want to press the brake hard enough to stop the rear wheels too!! Then if your real lucky, you can part with a bunch of cash to replace those fatties on the rear end. Alright, end of story time, now off ro bed!!...LOL.. sorry, sometimes I can't help myself He he he
I don't know why you are having problems. I have no problems with my non-supercharged 6 and I have a t-loc.
Just hold down the brake and rev to about 1800 rpm... the floor it and release the brake.. When I do that my tires spin enough to make the rear swing sideways.
If you increase your rpms a little.. you should get more of a burnout.

I don't have traction control....
So what now?
I tried that but my car still rolls. My brakes need to be replaced im pretty sure. Once i get up to about 90 then try to slow down I can feel the brakes kind of grinding i guess? I dont really know how to describe it. I think I'm gonna look into a set of gt takeoff brakes. And I don't have t-lok but i'm planning on getting it soon. Then I'll be able to roast some rubber!

That sixxer with an "X" is a beast. I seen one on Gratiot (our local crusin street in Detroit). He was smokin every thing. INCLUDING a few stock GT's(and one that was not so stock, but surprisingly enough, he did not want to talk about his mods after getting CHRUSHED by an "exer",that'll piss em off, He he he he). just practice up dude, you'll get it. and when you do, us stock sixxers wanna hear all the nasty details.
put your left foot on the brake...it doesn't matter how hard. gas it till the tach shows it ain't gettin any higher, lift the brake and slam the gas as fast as you can and don't lift till you gotta or you blow a tire.

put it in 1...more power...mines stock and will light em up no problem if you're doin a brake stand...what u mean rev it to 1800...just hold the brake and floor that baby

I dont know why you would be having a problem doing a burnout. My car will spin the tires without even touching the brake by just flooring it off the line. With holding the brake and giving it gas you should be able to do a huge burnout.

You shouldn't even have to do a brake stand then.. just flooring it off the line should get you there.
Before my t-loc.. I could smoke the living crap out of my "tire" without trying.
Definitely something going on if you can't even smoke one tire.

I know there is a difference in smoking the tires (at least for me) between my last set and my new set.. Before I could get some spin out of them, but with the new ones I just get really good traction.
I am not X charged tho, so idk what your problem is..
I've re-read your original post, and it sounds like you're not releasing the brakes. Hold the brake pedal down, tach it up to 1800-2000 rpm, release the brakes, and floor it... should be smoke city!
I have 295 width 18" Nittos and t-lock, and I can screech them pretty good, and I am not blessed with X power.
I think it is the new wide tires i got. They have too much traction...
That may make it harder, but it will not prevent you from doing it.
I have wide ass nitto 555's and no supercharger and I can sit and spin, it just takes some practice. You don't want to hold the brake pedal down all the way. Just enough to hold the front tires, once then start putting the gas down until the front is in place and the back starts to break loose, when that happens, mash down the gas and watch your money go up in smoke.
You are really lucky that you haven't destroyed your car! Standing on the brake and standing on the gas (especialy with a blower) Is what some people would call idiotic. Almost as bad as devil wolfs suggestion that you do a neutral drop. Either one has the potential to totaly ruin your vehicle. Use light brake pressure. Front brakes set up slightly before the rear ones. The front brakes handle the majority of the braking force. Once the tires start spinning, you will no longer be able to hold it back (without a line lock) so don't try. If you have your engine working against the full force of the brakes. The torque exerted on the vehicle is out of this world! Be careful.
