of course the ls1 is faster, im just stating that the LS1 is not TONS faster than the LT1 like that picture is trying to say

I totally agree.

There are threads all the time about LT1 vs LS1 on Camaro  boards.
These threads got very long and very heated.
Most LT1 owners are very loyal and very happy with their cars (I'm one of them).

Yes, a stock LS1 is faster.....no doubt about it.
Many have commented on the slightly better exhaust note of the LT1
and the more noticeable torque thrust at lower speeds.
Yet, if 1/4 miles times are the bottom line....LS1 FTW.....
That doesn't mean that the LT1 is slow by any means
and that picture (though it stands out) is far from true.

LT1's and LS1's arent that far off..

LT1 - 285/325
LS1 - 305/335

thats the difference in a 97 and 98 camaro z28...the models that have ram air are rated at 320...yes LS1s are under rated, but im pretty sure the LT1 is also

Why'd you rate the LT1 at the crank, and the LS1 at the wheels?   Just wondering.

i was listing what gm rated them at, and both of those are at the crank....maybe if you knew how to read you woulda caught were i said the numbers were underrated

I would venture that it's a lightning engine, because a GT500 engine would've had Shelby on the valve covers..  Close though brudda..

Thank you sir.  I thought 99Pony was a tad quicker, but I digress.

There's a guy around here with one of the SLP SS's... Red vert, automatic LT1.

From a roll (no spray) I walk him. He's stock, and I, apart from an O/R midpipe am stock as well. Stock for stock, you shouldn't have to worry. Mod-for-mod, I think he'll end up taking you though

he needs a driver mod...no way a stock 2v would "walk" an LT1

i understood the smiley perfectly, i just think it was a dumb statement even with the  because it doesnt make sense as a joke or otherwise....plus, half the LS1 nutswingers on this board would have read your statement and thought it was true because the LS1 is the best/fastest engine ever developed...EVER
