Well I'm 17 and I got my paycheck for 230$ and I want to upgrade to a better muffler for my 07 v6. right now my car is bone stock and I want to start upgrading. I'm staying single for now but in the future, I'll go dual. I want a muffler that sounds deep. and that has good reviews. What would you recommend me getting? Wheres a good place where I can buy a muffler?
If you are going duals in the future ... don't waste you money on a single .. just save and get the duals. If you insist on something single ... just get a set of GT take-offs and put one on .. You can then use the other one when you go dual ... or just throw them away when you go dual and not lose too much money. if you buy one of those $200 single V6 performance muffer you won't be able to sell it later ...
+1, if you're definitely going with duals in the near future, it might be a good idea to save the cash for now and just buy duals down the road, or like dmhines said, buy GT take-offs and just put one of them on for now until you can buy the rest of your dual setup.
If however, you must have an aftermarket single now before you get duals, I would recommend the Flowmaster AT. That's what I had before I switched to duals, and I was very happy with it for a single muffler. Not too expensive, and it's nice and deep and loud sounding, very mean for a single.
My Flowmaster AT got a lot of compliments and turned a lot of heads when I stomped on it, and I was very happy with it overall.
def go duals but if you dont plan on switching for a while i'd go with a MAC axleback muffler for single type it in under youtube to see how mean it sounds

Like others have said, if you want to eventually go duals either buy both mufflers now and save the other or just wait until you're ready to convert. There's also the possibility that you might want a single now but then want duals later. If you just want a single though, you have options. My personal recommendation would be either a Flowmaster 40 or a single Ford Racing GTA. I think that's the best all-around way to go for a single. But if you want cheap and subtle, there's the GT take-off. If you want loud and attention-getting, there's the MRT AeroTurbine.

Thanks for the help. I just looked on the back rear and there is no cut-out for a another exhaust. Will a muffler shop cut it to install duals? How much would it cost to get duals? I most likerly want gt-takeoffs or like victoria said the mrt aeroturbine. If I were to get the aeroturibe, I would go single because they cost alot. the gt-take off mufflers are cheap and If I were to go duals I would get gt takeoffs.
What im saying is I would absolutely love getting the mrt aeroturbine muffler just for single. For duals I would get gt-takeoffs.

I'm assuming you've seen my videos and know how loud a single MRT AT is. I'm not sure that I'd recommend dualing up with it, as you seem to already know. GT takeoffs are a popular option. I think them or dual Flowmaster 4os would be relatively inexpensive and sound pretty nice. There's a guy on YouTube with a blue Mustang with white stripes with the 40s, and they sound really nice.
Remove your stock V6 muff and go sans muffler for a while until you can get true duals. Or get a cheap GT ManualTransmission take-off muff until the duals can be afforded. 5$ ebay + S/H. Save and do what you want. Dont scrimp and buy, install then remove then install then remove then install something else then remove then get something differnt and install then remove.... Vicious cycle.... Save for what you want and bite your tounge in the mean time.

Hey yomofoitzjay!
Do you have the single Pypes Street-Pro Axle-Back?
I have one also and really enjoy it!
It took a month or two to break in; however once it broke in it sounded really good! It does sound a bit drone when getting on it in higher RPMs. I've recently installed a CAI and the exhaust sounds even more agressive and deeper. Overall, I like the exhaust and am saving up for the FRPP dual exhaust system.
i've included a clip below, before I installed the CAI.
My first mod was replacing the stock muffler on my 2006 V6, with a single Flowmaster AT (American Thunder). I may go true dual eventually, but that will be way down the road and I wanted a better sound now, for a reasonable price. I looked around and finally bought the muffler on eBay, from netparts express. The AT was $219 with free shipping, the best price incl. shipping that I found at the time. They also carry the 40, but not sure if they have it for 2005+ Mustang (the 40 costs somewhat less than the AT). I had Meineke cut the old muffler off and weld the new one on - they charged me for 1 hour labor to install it. So remember to consider install costs as well, if you won't be doing it yourself. Call a local muffler shop and ask them how much they would charge to install a new xxx muffler, part # yyy. Make sure you tell them it's an axle-back install, else they'll likely quote you for cat-back. And they'll probably tell you it would be cheaper if you ordered the muffler from them, and/or they may not warranty it - no biggie, just get the muffler you want at the best price delivered from a reputable seller, and have it installed - was cheaper in the end for me. As far as the sound of the Flowmaster AT, I like it. I wish it were a bit deeper and more aggressive, but it's a V6 with single exhaust and there's only so much you can do. It's not whiney or "ricey", and it does sound very good. I have had people assume my V6 was a GT, based on sound alone. Some folks claim to hear it sound better as it "breaks in", which is pure pish-posh in my opinion. It sounds better as the engine warms up, but the muffler itself won't change, at least not so that you can hear it. If you need to justify it in your mind, many of these mufflers claim better fuel economy... I have no idea whether it's true or not, but I just went along with it and justified the cost to myself that way. A GT take-off is also a good option - I've heard them in person on a V6 and they sound very good as well. If you have the ability, check some out in person - youtube doesn't really do justice as far as audio quality goes. If you're lucky, you live someplace where there's a Mustang club or car show or something coming up where you're likely to see / hear a handful of 2005+ V6's that have swapped out their mufflers.

yomofoitzjay,
I like the videos!
Do you have a CAI installed?
I installed my Airaid CAI a week ago and it makes the exhaust sound even better! :-)
BTW, I attended hockey camp at Pennstate along time ago. They have a very nice campus!!
I am originally from Johnstown, PA (60 miles east of Pittsburgh). I played ice hockey through Junior high and Highschool. I played at the Mellon arena during one of our highschool state champions games. It was sweet! I still play hockey in the adult req league here in GA. I also have played at the Philips Arena where the Thrashers play. We had our Allstar game held there. Fun stuff!!

Asking what kind of exhaust to get is like asking what you should eat for lunch. Everyone here has a different opinion.
But the one thing most agree on is that you are half way to your duals already, just save the money and get a good set of dual exhaust. I recommend the FRPP V6 dual exhaust, great kit, great quality, great sound.
Most people get their stang for long term, so you have plenty of time to upgrade and if money is limited, save it for the right stuff so your mod money will go further :)
