ok, so i got a new mach headunit/cd player from a friend, his is from an 01 02, my car is a 98. the tape player wont bring in, or eject tapes, and when i put the tape in allt he way myself, it comes up with error 2.

i've been googling for a good 30 minutes as to find out what error messages mean what with teh mach 460 system, but i cant find anything.

any help? i would really like to plug my ipod in via tape deck as opposed to radio, as the little radio things are never that great.

I don't know anyone on here that will be able to give you much help figuring out the factory decks.  They have always been the weak piont in the audio chain both in sound quality and dependability.  I would start simple and check the fuses and by that I mean check EVERY fuse.  The circuits are often linked to one-another so that I have not been suprised to have my radio go out and find out that the windshield washer fuse has blown........  Pull each fuse and look at it, both under the dash and under the hood.

yeah, i checked all the fuses already, had to in order to get the radio to turn on cuz i blew one when i was wiring it up before i decided to unplug the battery.

the radio and everything works, but it wont take in tapes on it's own, and when i push them all the way into position, it gives me error2. and the cd player wont eject, which i had to fix on my last one, but im not worried about that because i need the tape deck for my ipod.
