Default SLP LoudMouths on a v6

Should I? Will it sound much different if I just take off the muffler? I did that once to put my GT take off's on and it sounded nice from idle, but an explosion when I gunned it.

I have mixed feelings about it, what do you think?

i figured you'd lose all your low-end power? idk i've thought about it just to make it sound like a muscle car, but i have yet to hear a good, loud exhaust...things sound good, but still pretty quiet...but i think i'm gonna get some gts and see how it goes -and pryget the ninosport convo if i ever decide to go duals

I've not heard anything positive about it... mostly that it's loud, doesn't sound too good, and that it'll cost you low end torque. I'd avoid them or mid-muffler systems personally. There's a reason Ford put the muffler behind the axle.

I have muffler deletes on my car. I dont think I will ever put any kind of mufflers on it after having the muffler deletes. Everybody always mistakes if for a GT . You wont loose any top end power... but you can feela littleloss of back pressure. But I deffinetly noticed it felt a little faster with the muffler deletes then just the muffler.

You gotta be careful what you do with a sixxer, or it will sound like crap. Or even worse it will sound like a ricer (any thing but that). You tube has about a billion sound clips of almost any possible combo. Personaly I think the best sound is from the flowmaster american thunder. but for the cost GT take offs are ok.

Yes, there is a reason-- because normal, quiet, stock-type mufflers do not fit in front of the axle. The only type that fit in front of the axle is a straight-through design, resonator or glasspack style muffler. That's the type of muffler that is used in the mid-muffler set ups.

To the original poster-- search on Youtube for "SLP Loudmouths 4.0 V6", and there's a clip there.

It can be hard to judge the sounds on youtube... without hearing them in person.
