I am planning to order a pair of GT takeoffs for the Mustang. My question is, can I make a set of duals by just ordering a X pipe and a left midpipe? If so where is a good supplier for those parts?
Thanks for all the help and great forum.
Ed

You can get a FRPP X pipe off Ebay, and there are several vendors with them.  You will have to measure and cut your Y pipe - I had my X welded in place after the cats rather than using the 2.25 to 2.5 clamps (the down pipes from your cats is 2.25" and the exhaust is 2.5").

You can get a driver side mid pipe from the Ford dealer, or maybe find some in eBay or with a member who has changed out the exhaust.  In addition to the X and the driver side pipe, you will need another band clamp to connect the X and the mid pipes (one for each side but you should be able to salvage your Y pipe clamp), and the 2 hangers for the driver side muffler.  You can get the hangers at Pypes or v6Mustangstuff.

Thanks for the info Jim, I wasn't quite sure it could be done, but I kept asking myself  Why Not?  Anyway thanks again.

Good luck with your install fasteddy - I have the X with GT take offs and they sound great, no drone at all.  Not as loud sometimes as I'd like, but can't beat the cost.  I had the Flowmaster American Thunder, great sound at idle, great at WOT, but droned so bad on the highway that I couldn't take it and went to the GT take offs.
