My experience is just go to a good local tire installation place and have them purchase and install. If you purchase them and have them shipped to you, the shipping alone will off-set any savings you would get by finding a good deal. You will also find that you will get better service from a shop if you purchase from them. As far as shops, look for a good local independent shop if you can. I DON'T recommend Sears, K-Mark, Costco or big name shop that includes tire sales as only a part of their business. Give them your budget and what you would like out of your tires, and let them help you out. Steer away from ANY shop that says "X" brand is the best tire no matter what you want it to do. Or.... "Those suck, get these..." type of things. In general, stay as low a treadwear rating number as you can afford. The lower the number, the softer the tire, and hence better traction. Again, this is a general statement. Not ALL lower numbers will perform better than higher number tires. My PS2's are 220 and found them to be far better cornering tire than Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's (rated at 280 treadwear). The Eagles DON'T like to turn, and don't hold a line nearly as well, as they "creep" off line during hard cornering. Jazzer I just copied/paste this from a previous post to fobra. Not specific to your post, but should answer your questions [:D]
