I might have to give that a try. I need to be looking good for this cruise/show I'm going to. I just bought a clay bar kit from Mothers in hopes to start on the right foot. I have so many water spots on the Mach it's disgusting. So the Wet Wax huh? Was that all you used?
This is my torch red before:
and after Meguiar's clay, Obsessive Light Polish and Obsessive Wet Wax:

WOW! You guys are making me jealous!
Are polishers hard to use or learn to use?

Too much work done with the exhaust. It's time to move on. It's time to move on...
I don't think they are hard to use. I have found tutorials online. Get a Porter Cable from Justin at Obsessive detail. I WILL get one sooner or later lol
So was mine, but yours had a hell of a change. Very nice job

Was yours done by hand or polished w/ the PC?
By hand.
Thanks. I enjoy "wax on, wax off" by hand, especially on a warm Saturday afternoon, music from the garage and a cold beverage. Wax under my fingernails and a slight ache in my arms. It's like therapy.

Waxing by hand and polishing by hand are completely different. Polishing by hand is damn near worthless. You just can't do enough to really get out swirls and polish the paint by hand, and if you did it would take forever (like a week).
However, Waxing by hand I do prefer. I feel like I control the application of the wax more when I do it by hand.

I agree. Getting imperfections out by hand is really not advisable. I don't do it and I don't think anyone should do it if they are serious about getting your car perfect. The only thing I ever recommend along those lines is someone using Scratch-X for a spot treatment by hand. Waxing by hand or using a DA is really personal preference. Personally I like to use some products on the DA like NXT while some products like #16 I like to put on by hand.

I do have a random orbital polisher, sort of like this: I would not use it on my Mustang, but I could try the orbital to polish my Subaru.
That 'polisher' is good to put wax or glaze on and nothing more. It's not worth the trash bag you'll throw it in after you get a PC.
As for the original poster, if you think your finish looks good now...wait until you get a PC.
I won't say anything bad about your finish now, but you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about when you get a PC! Figuring you did all that by hand and it looks THAT good with high quality products, imagine what it's going to look like combining those products with a good polisher. You'll crap!
