i bought a cai and sct tune form steeda 7 weeks ago. the car ran great except on warm days and being stuck in town traffic. other than that it would haul. i started calling steeda and the crap started. its not our tune its your car. for weeks same sh*t. they finally sent me 3 custom tunes. the car wouldnt even run. rough idle, spits and sputters and falls in to fail safe mode. all 3 tunes the same. i called and complained like hell. still a dozen times its your car. their precious tunes are perfect. i sent the sct back to them thinking they would replace it. they put yet another custom tune on. the car started and ran but is a absolute dog. grandma in her 73 torino could walk circles around me. the car ran smooth but wouldnt even break traction. i put the stock tune back in and took off my new $719 mantle piece cai and the car runs good. actually sidways through 3rd gear. night and day difference is how it felt with the canned tune. several peeps on here say to get a brenspeed tune. i think i will as soon as steeda refunds or replaces my sct. word of advise dont get a steeda tune.

Color me not surprised. Now they are selling a Watts Link that is knockoff of Jim Fays' and crowing about how their unlimited R&D budget produced this masterpiece and how inferior everyone else is. It makes me smile....
Get your money back. Brenspeed, Bama, etc. will sell you a quality combo that will work as advertised. Speaking from experience, Brenspeed's service is top notch.
I feel for you, and wish you luck with a Brenspeed or Bamachips combo. They seem to be the most popular on this site.
That said, paragraphs, punctuation, spelling, and moderated use of bold text will go a long way to making your posts readable. I understand you are upset, but we can't help if we can't follow.
thanks for correcting my homework ms huckleberry(gas meet mouth). i didnt go to harvard to learn how to post a thread on a forum. we are all here to share ideas and warn our fellow mustang lovers of problems, not grade school papers. thanks for the info pwny and vista gt.

he was just trying to help you out. Maybe it is your attitude that Steeda didn't like and decided to screw with you. While your being educated, try posting once about the same topic instead of three.
As posted above, Brenspeed is great, everything from quality products to outstanding customer service.

I think most of us understand someone looking to vent because they got some junk tune and ripped off be a vendor. that didn't seemingly do anything to help him out. most of us who modded enough have been there. Sorry to hear steeda was no good to you. don't throw any more business their way then and make sure you contact them again when the plastic inlet tube warps in the future. i'm sure they will try to blaim you for overtightening the clamps.
your right brad281. thanks. i am new here and wanted to inform everyone about the bad rap i was getting from steeda. not get bashed cause of the way i was texting my threads. thanks to you and the ones that understand.

the power response is awesome. the canned tune in the sct has ran the best. needs some minor adjustments. the custom tunes steeda sent were the problem. you would think that they knew their sh*t. all i heard from them is its your car not our product. i just read a similar case as mine on the steeda forum. the response from them is quot we have never heard of that problem. must be a issue with your car. sounds famliar. a little advise, keep the canned tune or get a custom tune from breenspeed or bama.

I have the diablo predator but no CAI. The canned 87 and 91 tunes worked well, but the car does seem more responsive with Bamachips 89 tq tune. I always thought Steeda was top notch. Perhaps they should leave the tuning to Brent or Doug.
I have Steedas tunes in my Diablo tuner with the Steeda CAI. It runs awesome and perfect. I have a SuperChips tuner before that I got for dirt cheap on eBay, and upgraded to the Diablo becuase I wanted a BrenSpee/BamaChips tune.....I'm so satisfied with the Steeda canned tune in my Diablo I haven't even persued the custom tune. Maybe you just got a defective tuner?

hey jav, i highly recommend getting some tunes from Bama for the predator....you will see a huge improvement IMO. I know i did when i went from the diablo tune to Dougs tunes!
So I've heard. I just put in my headers yesterday, and I feel my car idling a bit funny. From my understanding, with the shorty headers, no tune is needed. I feel it breathing much easier, but the rpm's tend to go up and down from 600-1000 rpms at idle; especially after a cold start. If a tune helps and i need to pay for one anyway, I'm a go with something custom.

I went with the canned Steeda tune loaded in the SCT with no problems.......but I keep hearing that Bren especially does well.....or better yet hook it up to a dyno and have a custom tune done.
i too had the steeda CAI and tune for my first mod...it ran great but what steeda told me on the phone is that it would not run to its full potential because their tune does not take into account demographics...ie, a tune for 93 octane, CAI and gears will run no where near the same in denver as it would in houston and they have to take that in account when creating a tune.
they told me that elevation, humidity, and year round weather would play a big part in creating a "custom" tune and they just dont do that...
my steeda tune was fine for a bit but as soon as i started modding more, i had it dyno tuned...i suggest the same for you or it will never be as good as it can be.
