I would take a n/a v8 engine that makes big power over a forced induction v6 thats making the same power any day of the week....a twin turbo v6 will probably be the best it can be right out of the box...wheres the fun in that? gimmee a v8 that i can reach the sky with any day of the week

sigh...ofcourse i've heard of supras....i said a twin turbo v6 will probably be the best it can be right out of the box...please try to think a bit...we're talking 2012 and i said PROBABLY...i imagine if ford is going to try and sell the idea of a v6gt to the masses they are probaly gonna have to make it extremely kick ass out of the box....they will try and squeeze every bit of power out of it...again i say PROBABLY (try and focus on that word) whereas to my thinking i would rather have a n/a v8 ...gosh i hope i explained that a lil better

No, everybody's got the eco laws thing wrong. It's a law that makes all car manufactures to have at least 1 car with like 35mpg+ or something like that, not to kill off all 8 cylinders, if they did that no one would buy trucks and suv's b/c they'd be as slow as ****.

yourself included.  the average of all production cars has to be 35mpg highway.  the average may or may not include fleet trucks and bigger trucks.  they'll make the gas mileage numbers by gearing if they have to.

You sir know nothing about turbocharged applications.  People are using the more extreme examples of the Supras and GN's, and they work.  But if you take any factory turbocharged vehicle it is childs play to get more power out of it.  Bump up timing and boost, better IC, exhaust work, etc and you will see very large gains for very little $ when compared to an NA motor.

ford wont push it to its limits stock....less reliability, worse fuel economy, leaves no room for aftermarket frpp options

no no no no no

goddamnit.  if that was the case, then there would be no discussion about putting a TT sixxer in a mustang if they could just get 35mpg focus and say **** the rest.  ****n'a you suck.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

yes, because it makes a lot of sense to sell a car with a motor at its peak 100% at the limit potential.

i dont know 99black...if you were ford and you had to try and sell the idea of a v6 gt to a buncha die hard v8 guys like us...wouldnt you want that first edition to totally win over the masses...i mean killing off the v8 mustang (again) might destroy the flagship model of the ford empire....i know if i were the designer / marketer i would pull out all stops on my new idea...the mustang gt has been a v8 for almost half a century...that first v6 gt better be a knockout/homerun ... not saying it will happen...saying it COULD happen

now with the new cafe standards requiring an AVREAGE do you think the mustang can be the outlier?

If they run 36 pounds of boost on a bulletproof bottom end that will rival Titan Motorsport's 8 second Supra, from the factory, then yes it might as well be.

lol...ford would never run 36 lbs of boost in a stock car....and a tt sixxer running that much boost would have a lot more power than the projections
