where the hell is chuck norris?

His biggest thing is TKD which is like ballet. I know I used to do it, but anway i found some info on him that was interesting.

Chuck Norris as we know him today is an ass-kicking movie star, but where did he begin working? He was a file clerk from 1962-1964. When he was only 18 years old, in 1958, he wed Dianne Holcheck. Also when he was 18, he joined the United States Air Force, and stayed in it until 1962. During that time, he founded the Lone Wolf Cigar line. Norris has studied Judo, Brazilian Jujutsu, and has black belts in Tang Su Do, Karate, and is the only westerner to be a grand master (8th degree) in Tae Kwon Do in 4,500 years. He started competing in competition Karate in 1968, and held the title from 1968 to 1974, when he retired from competition undefeated. His acting career started in 1968 with "The Wrecking Crew," but wasn't an international superstar until he had a fight scene with Bruce Lee in 1973, in "Return of the Dragon." That fight scene will live on in movie history forever.

Why is Fedor on there twice?[&:] There should be a lot of other MMA names on there in place of people such as KIMBO[:'(]. Out of that list I'd have to go with Fedor. What about Anderson Silva or GSP just to name a couple of the best p4p fighters.:D

I only put kimbo on there because he is 6'2" and 268lbs and recognized as a ruff street brawler form prison. Thats gotta count.

I suppose but I'm more into MMA fighting rather than street fights. I do admit, under the training of Bas...he could be a force in a year or 2. He has fought cans so far so we will see.

Slicktastyk Matt

Out of all of those... I'd be most scared to fight Kimbo. The guy seems invisible and his punches seem harder the Jesus' when he gets a boner. But I bet Bruce Lee would own him with his speed and his kicks and ****.

I was looking for Grizzley Bear or something along those lines, but my second pick would be Tyson in his Prime.

Of course this applies only to boxing as a boxing pro would probably get eaten alive by a Grizzley Bear, and his ass whooped by any type of martial artist.

the fact that the poll does not reflect that is only the forums ignorrance to him, not of their knowledge of fighting.

bad list...but the best warrior ever was
royce gracie...in his prime NOONE could beat him...the guy used to weight train and work out UNDER WATER!! he was the best ever...lil older now but in his day the man was a force of nature....if he could touch you...he could beat you
bruce lee would come second...any real fighter knows that size and weight mean nothing in a no hold barred battle and bruce was friggin awesome....not just an acting fighter...i have old reels of his tournament stuff...the man could do a backflip over a 6ft fence!
jet li i have only seen him move in movies but martial arts inside info has him being a grand champion in his preteens....inside news says even on movie sets the guy will sit still as the dead and just meditate until he unleashes his skills on camera
chuck liddel has to rank up there...again, in his prime he was near unstoppable...if anybody thinks liddel couldnt have whipped tyson....
any true boxing fan would have to add jack johnson...that ****ing guy was stil winning as an old man....and a whole country wanted to kill him so i doubt any of the fights were fixed....i bet he woulda spanked tyson

speaking of tyson...i wouldnt rank him as a great fighter...he was a guy who was really strong and had an awesome elbow...oops.... i mean punch...but anyone who could duck his big elbow...i mean punch...usually could beat him

chuck norris in all honestly doesnt rank on any list of top fighters...he might rank on a list of old guys in shape but lets be honest now...top fighter? may as well add ralph macchio....lol

gotta give a nod to muhammad ali

I don't think MOST of the old fighters, even in their prime could compete today. They were all too one demensional and MMA has evolved since then. Look at how bad Matt Hughes destroyed Gracie.

by the time the hughes fight came around gracie was already a legend...i mean i guess we'll never know if a young hughes could take a young gracie but hughes has a long way to go before he reaches gracies level....i wouldnt take any pride in beating gracie at that point....remember the old days....no matter who came at him he woulld just need to get one hand on you...gracie was popping joints out of place with no effort...dont forget he once won the ultimate fighting championship with broken ribs...all those silly chuck norris jokes people tell, they would be true in gracies case ....who can forget that conga line **** the gracie family used to do on their way to ring....when the gracie family was on the way to the ring you knew it was over for the poor guy in theoctogon

Ultrashock

Gracie was good no doubt but I think in the UFC's eyes at least...Hughes has been successful. The most dominate welterweight champ of all time.

not saying hughes is bad but look at the difference in age between the devastating gracie and the old gracie that hughes fought....friggin embarassing for him to claim glory for that...hell i might as well wait till gracie hits 70 and whip his ass myself for the kudos

No doubt bruce. Weight doesn't mean **** when there are no gloves (aka boxing and mma). Gloves deaden punches a lot, you have no idea how many street fights where I have seen quicker 135-160lb guys knock ouy 200-230lb+ built guys. Bruce Lee had the perfect build and skillsfor fighting. No doubt bruce. Best fighter there was and ever will be.

Hrrmmm.. kind of a tough choice, but I'm thinking there's a couple left off. Like others have said, Randy Couture is definitely up there. Anderson Silva and Royce / Rickson Gracie are good too.. Then there's Mirko Krocop also, though he's a little one dimensional in some respects. You're also forgetting about Tony Ja, and Don Wilson. Though as far as all around fighting skill go, I still think Bruce and Brandon Lee will be the best. :D

MMA is NOTHING like street fighting for one. I will take the guy who TRAINS to survive in the street all his life: Bruce Lee!! I like MMA, but they ALL train within the guidelines of the sport, as they should. Bruce Lee, Steven Segal, those guys trained to survive LIFE. Totally different. Try taking Bruce Lee to the ground, he will rip your throat and eyes out so fast you wouldn't even know what happend. Plus he trained on the ground as well. And its obvious you can't stand toe to toe with him. MMA wise, Fedor is the best, then Anderson Silva.

lol...okay i accept that but if you are into the arts then you know that:

Seagal commenced his martial arts training at the age of seven under the tutelage of well known karate instructor and author Fumio Demura, and in the 1960s commenced his aikido training in Orange County, California, under the instruction of Harry Ishisaka. Seagal received his first dan accreditation in 1974, after he had moved to Japan to further his martial arts training. After spending many years there honing his skills, he achieved the ranking of a 7th dan in the Japanese martial art "aikido".

Chuck Norris began training as an adult in the military and achieved a black belt. He held the Professional Middleweight Karate champion (NON-CONTACT) title. In 1969, he won Karate's triple crown for the most tournament wins of the year, and the fighter of the year award by Black Belt Magazine.

To me, personally i'm gonna get the guy on my team that began training at 7 years old and was so driven in his training that he moves to japan and achieves 7th dan. I'm not gonna go ga ga over the guy who held the non-contact title. I like Chuck as a person...hes been around a long long time and seems like a hell ofa guy...but if we are talking whos probably a better fighter...i would go with Seagal on that one.

jeez...its not like i gave props to Jean-Claude the ballet dancer...
